what a waste - my guess is that he didn't second chance either. Here's what I'll think will happen
-he resells it for lower (knowing that he pissed off or deterred serious buyers he will most likely now get less than 15k)
-he puts it up and keeps putting the reserve up to ungodly heights so its stuck in a loop of not getting sold (which would eventually lead to point 1 or 3)
-he decides to keep it and essentially wastes everyone's fucking time.

    bit shame really...
was hoping to see what the price it would be sold...
given this is in-house prototype I would be interested in its value... [rubbing my saturn pre-production unit..... my.....precious....keh..keh..keh..] :p

How much does the dude want? he should just list it and let it be. 10K+ isn't good enough apparently

He put something like 100k reserve but that wasn't a serious reserve. He sent 2nd chance offers of around 15k to some of the highest bidders but they all changed their mind/had no intention of buying it. https://twitter.com/kidvid666/status/333403629702750209/photo1

That $15,500 bidder was http://myworld.ebay.com/webuyanygames but he didn't take the 2nd chance offer. He wasn't obligated to take it since the reserve wasn't met and no one is obligated to take a 2nd chance offer but it shows that he wasn't super keen.

If the twitter conversations are serious then it seems like kidvid666 will be selling it to Chad Simpson for $15,500 and he wants to pay in person next month.

Should re-sell saying anything over 15,000 will go to charity, might get some bidders that way!

He doesnt seem to understand how ebay works. He said the guy "backed out" - no, he wasnt the winning bidder because you had a reserve. He is under no obligation to pay.

If he hadnt set a reserve, he would have though.

Does he want to sell the unit or not? 15K sounds like a lot of money to me. Probably reserve was like 25K hah.

Pretty sure it was more than 25k, someone bid 25k then 35k and withdrew them - so I assume it was 25+

Well guess someone could sell their car. That's so much money for a system though NWC can reach 30K so you're getting a little more for less with the Pluto :p

Very good question, for all the hype its still basically a Saturn in a different case unless I'm mistaken? If I'd have picked it up for $1, I'd be extremely happy with a $15k return.

Which is a dangerous call as it's a lot of money and buyers remorse will kick in and the bidders don't have to take the 2nd chance offer. Meanwhile the seller is stuck with the listing + reserve price fees.

I always reject 2nd chance offers out of principle.

    Pics?? :D

The only time I accept is if it's because I was outbid and the winner doesn't pay the seller. But I see your point for reserve and 2nd chance offers.

I just don't accept at all. There's no way to tell if the winning bidder is just being dumb or if it's a shill.

The system looks so much better in white. Far less cheap looking. The black one just looks like a nasty bit of black plastic. Actually so do US and PAL Saturns. Then again the original grey Japanese model isn't what I'd call beautiful.

It's pretty much always a shill. I had a bidding war twice on the same item and the winner pulled out instantly both times even though they bid up to the last second of the auction.

I had to make sure I bid really high without winning, one time I was winning with seconds to go but he tried to squeeze another bit out of me and he went over my bid. I hope I annoyed him enough for wasting my time.
