Just got a GDEMU and tried my Patriot LX Series 8GB class 10 SD Card. The Dreamcast freezes when booting with the card in, but works if you insert after boot. Tried another few cards and they worked fine on boot so definitely compatibility problem with card.

Yes. Put both the Codebreaker CDI and the GDI of the game you want to use on your SD card. Boot the codebreaker, enter the codes, then use the yellow button on GDEmu to switch discs to the game disc. Or you can use 2 SD cards, one with codebreaker and another with a game, and switch cards like you would switch game discs.

There will be an easier way at some point, but nothing has been released yet.

Do you know of any other potential changes? An example, being able to jump scroll through the list of games in alphabetical order.

I'm hoping a future version of GDMENU will be able to incorporate an option of patching games to run in widescreen mode and VGA from the menu list, this would negate the need to use CodeBreaker.

I don't know anything. I'm only referencing comments made here previously, such as this post:

    Thanks you buddy.

    I test it, I think it's a good method:
    - I install widescreen code in VMU with codebreakers cdi image
    - for all games widescreen avallable for exemaple in 22th folder, I paste 21th folder codebreakers cdi image (very light cdi 2511ko)
    - I select the 21th image with gdmenu, codebreaker runs
    - I select a widescreen for example Daytona USA 2001 (the game in the 22th folder), and start game
    - When checking disk ask by DC I click on the GDEMU button for launch game and it run
    - I use the stretch zoom from my HDTV.

Daytona USA (soory for the quality but I have a poor chinesse VGA cable, I will next time my HQ cable, very very nicer image):

Almost the ratio it's seems respected when we compare with XBOX 360 HD widescreen version:

    With my smartphone.

    Before strecht:

    After:

For compare without widescreen code (it's is nicer because use my HQ cable in this old picture):

Another thinks I use this SD card 128 GB, format in FAT 32 64 k clusters:

    Hello everybody,

Has anyone managed to get any cards working in High Speed mode ?

If so I'd be grateful if you could mention what the card was.

    Many thanks

I have tried a number of different types and sizes of cards and all have failed. I think you will have more chance of getting this feature to work using a slow SD card. I'll hazard a guess - as I am not entirely sure how the feature is meant to work - that high speed cards feed data faster than the Dreamcast can handle...

Anyone had any issues with Capcom vs SNK 2 + GDEmu? I was playing when suddenly the console reset itself. I have the same Kingston 128gb card suggested in this very thread a few pages back. Thanks!

Update: I tried two versions of the image, a GDI and CDI, same thing happens.

Update 2: I changed both settings in the ini from 150 to 500 and after an hour or so the reset thing didn't happen again, although I have no idea if this was purely coincidental or because of change in settings. Any ideas? Thanks!

Update 3: The following morning I decided to have another go but when I loaded GDMenu it only showed me like there are 6 games. I check the SD Card in my PC which shows me ALL 100 or so folders. I put it back in my Dreamcast and switch it on. Now it shows me all games but navigation is really slow when scrolling up and down. I try and boot a game, but instead of loading it put me in the system menu. My patience is wearing thin now.

After copying the images the 1st time, have you added others individually since?

Imo, it's best to copy games you will know you will play instead of swapping and changing regardless of the SD capacity and leave it alone. It's possible fragmentation could have occured, if so.

However, try using some IPA and clean the SD contacts on the ODE. However, random reboots can be a MB pin issue on the console. Again, try using IPA solution or other electronic cleaning products on the pins and also try bending them back so they make better contact with the PSU. It's a well known issue with DC's even way before ODE'S existed.

Yup, I did copy files to and fro quite a few times. I guess I will reformat it and copy everything back.

What is ODE? Thanks! (I guess Optical Drive Emulator)

    Update:

I reformatted the SD Card and put SNK Vs Capcom. After a few minutes looping (with settings 150/150 in the ini file) the game reboots, so I put the settings to 500/250 (as suggested by the GDEmu FAQ) and after 1 hour the game was still going strong.

Ini settings don't seem to make much of a difference from what I have tested in the past (if you ever look at my other posts on this thread). It's mostly just detect times to mirror the original drives but in your case that may help.

I suggest doing a soak test for a few hours on a demo loop or play it for a few hours if you have time.

Well I did do a test with the game and basically:

    1. 150/150 ini settings = reset sooner or later
    2. 500/250 ini settings no settings (and I left it running for over one hour)

I will do the same tests as above with a different SD Card.

Ok I confirm the problem is the SD card slot. I cleaned it up but I am not 100% happy as although it improved it is not perfect. Is there a way I can contact the GDEmu guy for support?

Easiest way i found to contact him is to email him at the same address as you ordered from.
