    No he literally said '' I wouldn't be suprised if this was the last batch ''. He didn't state anywhere that eventually everyone will get one.

    Hi GDemu newb here, i managed to get myself a GDemu in todays order window :)

    Been reading through this thread and i will find it useful when the GDemu finally arrives.

    Are there any specific things i should or shouldn't do when setting up the SD card?
    Are the links on the first page up to date with the latest versions of SDmenu etc?

    Also when i was opening up my DC today, getting the drive out in prep for when it arrives, i noticed a small swicth on the bottom of the case. After further investigation ie opening and stripping the DC down to the motherboard i find what i believe is a modchip of some sort. However as i bought this DC 2nd hand years ago i have no knowledge of what the chip does. Heres a couple of pics, can anyone shed a bit of light on this?

    Hello, Im new here, but i just want to give you my feedback for SD Card compatiblity.

    I bought a Kingston Profesional SDA10 SDHC 256GB Class 10, first it was really hard to format it. HP tools was not working, Fat32Formater aswell not, guiformat also not. Here i was able to create a Fat32 copy with EaseUse partition manager, but this one was not working in GDemu (i assume he took the wrong cluster size) the yellow light was burning all the time.

    I tried it 3 or 4 times, nothing happens :( In the end, i gave it a last try and format it first with EaseUse and after with GuiFormater again as FAT32 with the right cluster.

    Baaaazinngaaa, it was working. :)

    Yeah fat32 is sometimes a bother to format when using bigger memory. Was a pain in the butt when i had to format 4 terra to fat32 for my ps3.

    That looks like a region-free modchip. It was used to play imported games before we had region-free bioses.

    We can't really tell you what the switch does unless you show us where it's soldered to.

    Hi! After reading your message I decided to investigate what is the cluster size and why there are so many sizes. But out of curiosity, what was the cluster size that worked for you with 256GB?

    Hello, I do not really know if it was really the cluster, but on EaseUse i could not set any Clustersize and i read some days ago that this would be quiet urgent for GDEMU. As i format it only with EaseUse in Fat32 it was not working, but after when i used GuiFormater with 32768 unit size it was working directly. Perhaps it was only bad luck as kumikochan mentioned.

    It was this card, buyed on Amazon.de

    Thank you for your answer, I'll keep it in mind when formating my next SD card, I have a GDEMU since 2015 but I want to expand my 32GB of storage. Sometimes I feel the need to add more games even after stripping the padding from the games.

    another question i heard that dc is overheating when switch from gd-rom to gdemu for two reasons
    1 the airflow is change with gdemu the air goes under gdemu instead of psu. easy fix a paper that will bridge fan and psu and isolate the gdemu.
    2 about the 12v that is useless now with gdemu is ok for pal console the psu fix or it will give problems (i will make my dc hdmi in the future)

    You can remove the 12V from the PSU, yet if you ever need to use the original drive again, it will not work, as it needs the 12V. You could add a 300 ohm resistor instead between the "GND" and "12V" points.

    I have done both on my consoles and it's improved it a bit, yet tbh, the heat issues are debated a lot, so just try it for yourself, as I have also ran the consoles without any adjustments and the heat is not as bad as others think imo.

    thanks. when i get the device i will make only the airflow fix, make the crazy taxi stress test, and if i spot overheat i will put the 300 ohm resistor. (so the psu wouldnt become cripled)

    Yeah, using a cardboard filter would suffice to direct the air flow around the PSU. You shouldn't have any issue with the Kingston card either, as I use the 128GB version and it's fine.

    @truemaster1

    Do not fear of getting the 128GB SD from Kingston of that type 'cos I have been using it for a few months now with no issues. Use format32 to format as well. I used to have a 32GB only to realize it just didn't cut it. Now with the 128GB, I feel like it's a decent size. I got 107 games (mostly gdi's) compared to less than 30 games on the 32GB. Anyway, here's a pic of my unit along with the newly printed GDEmu tray. Perfect orange match for my North American console.

    Short question, how long does it take to boot up with a 128gb SD Card? Just finalize the 256GB Kingston and yes it works, only the boot up to the GDmenu takes about 4-5minutes (okay, its alot of stuff to check), but i just would like to know how long the 128gb takes :)

    Thansk in advance,

    You can get 'em here here in the link below. Notice, you can choose to pay for it to be printed for you from the site, or you can download the schematics of the GDEmu tray and get someone to do it for you or go to a library that has 3D printing that will do it practically for free.

    Enjoy!

    @Jonny0r

    By the way I'm curious to see how long that 256GB Kingston you said takes to boot. Could it be faulty card or just not compatible?

    Peace!
