The orange looks great. I got one printed last Friday, just went for the stock black. I'm wondering now if I should have gone for a blue. Anyway here's a few pics and thanks to the guy that designed and shared it :)

That's a good idea, I'll try going without the menu and see what that does. I'd be really interested to hear your results on Skies, and as for what version and date it's from the latest batch and it's a V5.5 as well. Like I said the psudo-freeze (because I can get past it by pressing start) isn't a huge deal and it only seems to affect the opening demo, thankfully the game still plays fine, just a strange quirk I noticed.

Edit: Okay, just tested without GDmenu and the pseudo-freeze still occurs at exactly the same spot, and can still be gotten past as well. Also I just wanted to check that I'm running the latest firmware, 5.13.0 is what my GDmenu shows, I flashed it with the one up on his site when I was running in to early PSU problems. Is that the latest one?

I've had the same exact glitch happen with Skies; now I'm curious about others' experiences.

I'll try this tonight if I get time, yet expect my results soon. It's not game breaking but it's good to know these things.

So basically just start the game and let the demo sequence play out? or play intro on boot?

@Vasid Update: Well that was quick, I thought I didn't have Skies on my SD, which turned out I already did. Bad news, it also happens to me and this is on my NTSC US/CA console using V5.4 ODE, Kingston 128GB SD using a Trurip unpatched GDI dump of the game.

I didn't bother checking it on my 5.5, as I just got it yesterday and have not installed it yet into another console but since you guys confirmed it already that this minor bug occurs, I have left it for now.

The minor crash occurs when that silver creature appears and winks like you say, which can be skipped by pressing Start. Another thing to note, is this is on a stock bios too, in case any of you have writable bios's.

However, I also checked it on my USB-GDROM and it plays through fine, I did this since troublesome games like Crazy Taxi, also had the same issues as GDEMU (crashing on the demo) if not using a more compatible hdd, like it is, if you are using a lesser compatible SD card.

Interesting, well that's three of us experiencing it so far, so I'm guessing we found a new bug. Good thing it's so minor.

I ran Crazy Taxi for 5 hours straight without any freezing on the Sega screen, and so far running it with other games I haven't had any problems either. Just to confirm we have the same card here is a picture of mine. As far as I can tell the card works perfectly, and the GDEMU hasn't had any problems since I cleaned the connectors from the MB to the PSU.

thanks. i let my dc running from morning till now. this time with 2 extra fans 1 in top of gdemu and the other inside the open space the console didnt freeze and the run was 12 hours:) so maybe my dc thermal pads are bad + the heat from psu and possibly that was the reason the console freeze

Say, by chance does anyone have any spare GD ROM screws? I need the 3 from my old GD ROM to use with the SD card tray. I am an idiot for tossing it out.

EDIT: Nevermind! Home Depot to the rescue.

Just curious to know what Deunan established that maybe the fault? It's quite rare to hear problems, as they are tested before shipping, yet anything is possible and transit could have played a part with it too.

we found that mine particular device have a problem after hours of use, possibly from the heat not that the heat its a problem but mine gdemu have problem with the heat. my guess possible a cold solder that affected from the heat. i get this idea because if i let a fan on top of gdemu to cool the 2 square ics the device will play forever. but having a fan to cool gdemu it doesnt normally needed. its a same batch as the second one you get. 1-8-2015 ver5.5

"#4, 3/8", seemed to do the job just fine.

I see, interesting, yet strange. I'll get around to trying my new one from that same batch after the weekend, as I have 3 other spare machines to test it with. Will post up any issues, if they happen.
