Slick fan setup. How much louder is that than just the single 40mm factory fan?

Everything I've read and from people's general anecdotes did seem to suggest that it does help by adding a draw. I didn't have the time to really want to do an A/B test so I just used the resistor as a precaution. I actually have an IR thermometer I could use to see what the temps are. My case doesn't really get hot at all even after a few hours of use so I haven't worried about it. When I have some time I'll try to do a voltage reading and temp observations over a short period with and without the resistor.

The fan is pretty silent on only the 5v line, it can go up to 12v. can't hear it at all with the lid closed and among the sound of the dc fan, I also used the quietest fan I could find from one of my dreamcasts , has a little opening on the top of the shroud. Dreamcasts came with many different fans I guess.
Also I reported a while ago the lexar 128gb works too.

    Hi everybody !

Thank you, from my side I will test several discharge (Tosec - Trurip - Redump) for this game and I tell what.

Hey Jack. Try improving the ventilation on your DC, this seems to be working for me. It was one of the things Deunan suggested. I took the DC out of the cabinet I usually keep it in and kept the disc door open, the game has not crashed in a while, I can finish the story mode now. Give it a try and let us know.

So I installed my GDEMU earlier but i can't seem to get the games to work. I'm using CDI files and usually the screen just freezes at the bios splash. sometimes it will go to the dreamcast menu and say that it's checking disc. the furthest i've got was when a game launched for a few seconds but then quickly went back to the DC menu. i'm using correctly formatted SD and SDHC cards. I'm throwing various CDIs named disc.cdi into 01 (not at the same time). is there a step i'm missing?

Use GDI instead of CDI. CDI is crap.

Yes but no. It'd be like printing a thumbnail on a poster and pretend there's no difference with the real deal, except the printing process would be extremely complicated and would probably not work the first 10 times you try.

Just dump a decent GDI yourself or get them online.

tested two GDIs both with issues. could be the source. zombie revenge played to the first boss and then crashed. 18 wheeler i selected my truck and then black screen. now it just freezes on bio splash and i can't get anything to load. i'm wondering if i should try another card.

clean your pins where your psu gets in.
i believe there are 3 or 4,maybe they oxidised a little bit.
    and try also another sdcard.
i have not a single problem with gdemu,so test with some other sdcard and clean those pins.

I cleaned it up a bit and tried to bend the pins back. I was able to play zombie revenge all of the way to the final boss. Then I died. I thought my kids might want to play it but they laughed and went back to Just Cause 3.

dont bend them, just clean with rubbing alcohol.
and try to get a sdcard from kingston or sandisk, not transcend.
i cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and finest sandpaper there is.
works fine now for long time, deunan told me that method.
its a known problem with dc.

Hello, I had several problems with generic cards. After buying a Samsung EVO 64gb MicroSD the problems are gone. Please add this Micro SD to List of compatible SD Cards
Here the link to the SD card:
    http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memory-storage-accessories/MB-MP64DA/AM

Formated with FAT32 Format Tool utility, i have tested with 40 GDI and had no problems. With generic cards i had many problems, GDmenu freeze, ingame freeze...

Samsung 64gb EVO it is approved.

A real good test is to leave Crazy Taxi 1 or 2 on a demo loop for a few hours and see if it crashes on the Sega Logo screen. I mentioned this before, yet it fell on deaf ears when I asked people to try it.

In my test findings, Kingston cards appeared to work the best out of the most other brands on the market, as others appeared fine at first but later started going bad with random crashes, in-game freezes and returning to the main bios screen (yes I did check the MB pins). Not tried Samsung cards but try what I said.
