Holy crap, I really hope this is real and I really hope we can get a chance to see it in action. Nintendomad, I hope you can get us more info soon.
sorry but I can't follow you. Well I understand the most things in english but this o0 what do you mean with "barely raised $1200 for sonic xtreme". You bought that game or you have to give someone $1200 for dump it or anything like this? and do you mean with the $3000 that the potential seller will "dump" or make a video of the game or to buy the game? thanks^^ but ya know, I don't understand everything
Did someone actually talked to the guy or it's just "I know someone who know someone else..."? Anyway if we really have an opportunity the get the game, THE GOAL OF THE OPERATION MUST BE TO DUMP THE DISK . Who will end up with the game doesn't really matter as long he is trustful and as the equipment to dump it (and to do a lot of you tube vid's ). Also we need to know if it's a mastered blue disk or a retail gray one. Such a dump might be what need to make 64DD interesting to emulate.
Eh, it's 64DD. I have the equipment to dump on it ;-) If you would like me to put videos of THAT on Youtube, I'd be happy to oblige  Yes, my proposed dump might be what is needed to make 64DD interesting! ...I kid, of course ;-)
I would honestly love to let the community have first shot at this game, but as of now, I don't even know when the game is going to be sold, or where, as assembler will know, this gy is really sticking his neck out selling it at all, and I am definite it will be done very quietly, so I will be only pming people about possible sales and so on, as like assembler said, NCL is pretty quick to act legally if any of their prototypes get leaked, particularly something high profile like this. These are after all Randnet employee's, or were should I say LOL, so Nintendo would have no trouble in narrowing down it's search of it's leak if it became widespread. I am going to keep this on the board, but please appreciate the situation I am in here, it's a prototype of an almost priceless disk, and should it become available to private buyer's then the price is going to be astronomical as it is playable by all accounts. There are some members here, along with assembler, who I am fully aware of have 64dd development kit's and the stuff neccesary to run this, as well as the disks and files, and other dev software to run this.Any information will go to them first, and then we can see what assembler thinks, as he is aware of any legal implications that go with this particular protoype, as he has the knowledge with the BH0 situation. Also I don't want to burst thing's out too early and put this right in the face of NCL, as what happened before with the Biohazard Zero cartridge. All I can say for certain is this is no bullshit, I'm not just going to make this up. This has taken three months of exhaustive searching to get any information whatsoever. Also Yakumo was right earlier, when he was talking about the absolute secrecy that surrounds this community, and getting the info was hard enough. Even me myself, I have aquired some normal development item's, and I am hesitant to talk about them outside of the members of this community. We also don't want any pressure on parties here to suddenly lock up, and feel under legal threat. Let's see how this pans out, and hopefully there will be some light at the end of the tunnel. I am very positive for the moment, but really want to keep it as low profile as I can, but at the same time, keep the community up to speed.
Just to add as well, this game is currently on a Blue disk, and as such will only be playable on a full development kit. Plus, as I said in my first post, this is not 100 percent definite yet that the person is going to sell. He is indeed in possesion of the disk. Also dumping wouldn't really be an option unless it goes to a community member from the west as Assembler said, I would actually just love to see some action in video form or pictures at the moment, as it's unlikely if it is sold on auction, that someone who pays thousands of dollars for this, and has paid alot for the development equipment is suddenly going to dump the game, as was the case with Echo Delta. Let's keep it calm just now, as soon as I have concrete information, then I will post again. But as far as playing this on a normal 64dd goes, I am pretty sure it wll be impossible, I have the info as i said that the game requires a full development suite to work.
Wow never thought I'd see this come up. I'm not to sure about all this though as of yet. Till I see a screenshot/s or some sort of video I'm gonna stay away from throwing money in to the pot if it does happen.
Well said, and I am the same, which is why I am asking for calm, we don't want to inflate the price of this, and we don't want NCl stepping in either, and I won't be involved in any money getting thrown into a pot either, until absolute verification is completed, which will take time, as everything from the code, software, disk etc.. will have to validated which won't happen overnight, and I am enlisting the help of the n64 specialists on this board for that. I probably shouldn't have posted the info so soon, but I was excited , after all I have been a 64dd fanatic since 1997. This won't happen overnight, I am not going to be asking for donations, as what happened with the mother 3 disk etc, neither will anyone, and I politely ask that any talk of money etc.. is put to the side for now. I also have to say assembler, and kammedo are correct in that this is going to be a private or auction sale, and that it will then be up to that person from their on in. Let's have calm, see how this pans out, and as soon as the story is ready to be posted it will. As with everything in japan, this will take time.Escalating the value of the disk in the meantime will not help anyone.
It probably would have been best to keep this under for awhile. Or at the very least, a private forum for "elite" members or something. Heck, anywhere but a forum like this where even guests can view. I don't know what could happen, but I'm betting this already has done something to ruin it...maybe. I'm also searching for that JP proto forum now, but probably no luck as it's lilkely hidden
Boys & Girls, I understand the hype but how much proof have we seen of this so far? I don't want to play the game breaker, but certainty has to be a requirement, otherwise each boy that sells a blue disk on ebay has a chance to make a shitload of money. First of all : a) does the user have only the disk? b) does he have a devkit as well? c) any chance he might show at least pictures of what he has in hands? Also : Being it a disk, it will probably require the rom to boot. Which means that we will need a japanese beta of OOT also.
Ok we now know why this has been moved, and I will keep you guys up to speed, I am not going to force my cotact. Thanks assembler.
This was my point, and why I thought, nobody would get hyped so soon, but bang, it happened, sorry for being so open, I thought you had to be amember to acccess cerrtain pieces of the board, and now I know it is. The deal isn't ruined, it's not even begun, lol, as well as the fact that I haven't seen the proof yet either, when I do get more info, you guys will be the first to know.
