Neither appear to be bad men, I don't think you can hold the distant past against them. One canidate in particular I know will be a fairer commander and chief to this diverse nation. I fear that the majority of the country is voting under the influence of peer pressure.
*runs off with Johnny with his maracas, dreamcast (with mystery game XD), power converter and TV cables to Samba de Janeiro XD* Kyuusaku, Yes one will be more fair but both have the same general goal and are beating each other into a bloodbath and that makes them appear to be bad men, and in my book, taking the rights away from someone because of who they love strikes me as wrong, so that puts me against the bad m(a/e)n. Though I do agree fully on the peer pressure aspect.
The odd thing is, because of my father I am an American citizen. So I tried to register as a voter some months ago, but as I have never lived in the US (only been there on holiday) it's down to the state where my father last lived, which is Illinois - and it does not allow non-resident expatriate voters, so I was told :-(
Rant Alert. First, let it be known, I love the american people, and many of my best friends are americans. Then again, the election in the US affects my country.... or does it? Meh. For one, The president of Mexico is like a mexican version of George Bush.... you know the kind. Religious-fanatic imbecile nutjob that fucks the regular people over to give all power to transnationals and religious groups. Patriot Act? You make me laugh. You americans have probably found out what it feels like to be young and not white in Mexico, and have the police stop you to take away every last peso you have, plant a baggie of pot in your clothes and then accuse you of robbery or posession to try to extort you ... RIGHT OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE. That way, the rich white SUV soccer moms feel safer that you brownie bastard are not in the street to rape/murder/rob them. While a college professor, such as myself, makes 150 dollars a month, a member of congress makes 30,000 for doing nothing. OUT OF OUR TAXES. Then they pay the police 200 dollars a month to treat people like shit, so transnationals and investors can feel safe and white and rich. So yes, the fanatical conservatives are in power. Who the fuck cares? What if Kerry wins? He is also an incompetent fool. His only point in favour is that his opponent is ALSO an incompetent conservative fool. Whatever happens up there, they still own my country - and yes, this is a country we have invaded since our own has collapsed thanks to neoliberalism and corruption. And soon, the US will collapse because of the same, as well. So what if Bush wins? He's personal friends with our own incompetent president. What if Kerry wins? Transnationals and rich foreigners still own us and have power over our freedom. So yes. Whoever wins, God help us all, and God Bless our American brothers. Whoever wins the election, I hope life improves for everyone and the real winners are those who voted, and those outside the country as well. End Rant.
Sorry about the long winded rant, BTW. My International Media Communication requires me to watch CNN at least 9 hours a day reporting on the Election. The little CNN logo, I think, has burnt through my left Retina. BTW, I could use a Salmon/Cream Cheese/Capers Bagel
I always pictured you'd be like 27, Alien W. You sound a lot older. To each his own, I hope someone wins the election. Whoever. Good luck either way.
First time I was old enough to Vote, I voted for the official party (which in today's political climate, is the equivalent to the Democrats, only a bit more conservative). The party that won and is currently in power is the equivalent to VERY right wing republicans. Like Bush. I regularly vote Socialist, though... Yeah, I know.
if i was you i would stop that job.... you cant live with 1500 pesos.... and about politicians... if you envy them, why not become one?
(if you envy politicians why not become one?) To quote Lisa Simpson, "I'd rather go to heaven". Really, though, Politician is a DANGEROUS job in Mexico. You will always have to deal with smugglers and criminals. It's like maffia, only with more power, and less life expectancy. I write for a small local newspaper - Political Editorials, actually. That's about as close as I will get to be a politician. Plus I like being honest. That's why I teach and write. I love my job. So I make very little cash? I have some pension from my father. I get by. No idea how other teachers make it. Probably multiple classes and other jobs. My sister teaches junior high and while not rich, she can also survive. I will never be Filthy Rich, but I always get by. Right now I'm unemployed, but I will get one or two jobs in january. My first book will be out by the first half of '05, and I'm writing a new novel. I'll get some extra cash from an organizational communication project come january as well. One has to get by, either way.
Never did play Earthbound... Heard it's really good. Was there a beta for an N64DD version? I kind of remember seeing that in magazines. I might be going off topic... sorry.
