    260.

For me it was worth it. Only you can decide if it's worth it for you.

Functionally it's fantastic. You can organize images in nested folders like the everdrive carts. I also unsoldered the lid switch from the original drive board and soldered it to the usb-gdrom. Opening the lid takes you out of the game you were playing and puts you back in the usb-gdrom game select screen. I also have a Saturn rhea ODE. While that is also fantastic hardware, the menu system on the usb-gdrom is more sophisticated in use and easier to set up.

Lastly 256gb usb drives are available for $50 US. I used five - four contain the entire trurip set by region. A 5th has 256gb of the "best" and my favorite games, all in folders by genre. You could try a usb hdd, but that would require modding the dc which I did not want to cut up.

I had to buy my usb-gdrom from stone age gamer. Not cheap. But I had a 2tb hd for it already. :( I thought I could buy it directly from the guy that makes them and save money versus buying from stone age gamer. Stone age gamer did not have them in stock at the time I wanted to order one. So I tried to buy it from the guy that makes them. Asked a bunch of times to order one. Took a long time to respond. I finally did get a response from him. Told me that stone age gamer was selling them. So that is why he took down the how too order page. So stone age gamer might be the only place to purchase them from.

Just went to his website. The how to order page is down.

Just my luck. Someone has the usb-gdrom external and a dreamcast up for bid on ebay. Bidding ends on saturday.

    ...And now it's at 97% ! Yay, 2% more! :D

I'll be interested to see what additions, changes, etc. he has made to the firmware when released.

I personally have been VERY happy with it, but I'm an very old-school PC user, and so simple, functional text-based interfaces are a-OK with me...

They open up backorders when a shipment is in transit. Two months ago I back ordered one. Got it about three weeks later.

If you want to buy, watch for when backorders open up. It's opened and closed a couple of times since I got mine.

If you get one, you can fit the entire trurip set (US, JP and EU) on four 256gb drives. Add a 5th drive for favorites / top games and your set.

Plus be prepared for rip off prices too. I saved nearly around $85 direct from mnemo. Maybe its a temporary issue mailing to the US from mnemo's standpoint.

Contrary to my last post, business is business as they say and I can understand profits have to be made, yet after reading SAG's post. It's a really Dick move on Mnemo's part, unprofessional and out of order, which will not help him in the long.

Wow, so I guess I was pretty lucky to actually get a usb gdrom. I'm glad I have one, but at the same time I now feel a little bad that I gave Mnemo any of my money, the guy sounds like a real ass.

i first contacted mnemo last summer, after 2 month or so he wrote back asking for paypal and shipping address.
After that there was nothing again until february this year (almost 6 month), a invoice arrived in my paypal account. No email or im message in the time.
I wasnt sure if i should pay because of the huge time gaps but i couldnt miss the chance to get one. After payment it arrived 2-3 weeks later (Central Europe) and the unit works great.

So i can recommend the device but communication with him is almost non existent... with gdemu being the only alternative and getting that is as hard to get as well im really happy that if got mine in the end.

I hope the new situation wont result in the lack of future firmware updates but even if the compatibility is great with everything i tested yet.
