That didn't make much sense  edit: ah so they connect to a server that plays up the ASCII version of Star Wars. I remember seeing that one like 10yrs, pretty cool. If anyone wants to watch it: http://www.asciimation.co.nz/asciimation/index.html
Well it sounded like there was a hidden movie on WinXP that communicated with another computer. But after seeing the youtube link I understood what you meant
Nipples in DOA 2 and of course every last one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EGM_April_Fools'_jokes
Actually Ermac was a watchdog, just like the chris houlihan room in zelda: a link to the past was a watchdog to make sure the game wouldn't crash if a room didn't load properly. In Ermac's case, he was there to ensure the game wouldn't crash if the cpu didn't load a fighter's graphics in time. from there the details are nebulous due to Ermac's rare appearances. Some say he appears during an entire round, some says he only appears for a few seconds before the graphics switch to your/the cpu's proper fighter. in fact, the reason why Ermac is red is that to reduce costs and make palette swapping easier, the developers did the green screen process with characters wearing red costumes (like scorpion/sub-zero/reptile/ermac). Ermac's color merely is the default non-swapped color. So, it is safe to say Ermac IS the original ninja, and the others are the palette swaps.
The existence of Bigfoot and Leatherface in GTA: San Andreas was a pretty well-known gaming myth at the time. Another one that seemed to be really popular was that you could play as Luigi in Mario 64 by collecting all the stars. There were also the two "unused" item slots in Ocarina of Time that started all kinds of rumors..
I never heard about Leatherface, but I remember some videos of Bigfoot. Funny enough they did not show anything more definite than those real amateur Bigfoot captures  @beretta Where was that published? In an April's issue? ^^ Never heard of it, but the pictures seem to be not too fake at first glance. The only chance to get this 3D Akuma would have been to cut out some scene from SF EX but Akuma is seen in a weird angle from behind, so I can't really imagine how.
There's a whole site here about SA myths. I bet most of that stuff was put in by R* on purpose so people would think there are more hidden stuff than there actually is
One of my favorites is how many cheat sites used to list that in Sonic Adventure you could jump over the train in Station Square to unlock Shadow.
Wasn't there actually a Street Fighter game where, after fulfilling certain conditions, Akuma would do just that?
I thought it was general knowledge by now that Capcom put Akuma doing that in Super Street Fighter II Turbo after being inspired by the April fool. Capcom also refered to Gouken as "Sheng Long" when they gave information about SFIV before its release.
the Aerith church thing is all but a fake. when you go to the church on disk 3 she's there setting up the flowers and dissappears a second later. the revive thing however is, Sure, it's doable.... with gameshark
Interesting, I've never heard about this. Is she a ghost or something in that part or was she supposed to be? For a minute I thought it was just the developers messing with your head. And I THINK the kids in the Church say something like "Wheres the flower girl, she was just here!" or something.
