Curiously enough, when Sonic Team reworked Sonic 3 as part of the 32-bit Jam compilation they made the debug code a lot easier to input... but then went and ruined the game's water effects somehow, along with plenty of other strange minor alterations I've forgotten at the moment!

I remember the super tail thing in sonic 2.
I also heard of a super knuckle by inputing a code in sonic and knuckle with the sonic 2 cart.

I remember as a kid being super psyched with my buddy when we got to play with super sonic after going through all the sega magazines at the store to find the code.

I take what I said back. I think it was more like a gameshark code or something that replaced the body of the soldier taking a dump when you go to rescue the DARPA guy with the body of Meryl.

This is actually true, in Delta Force: Land Warrior there's a Bigfoot patrolling the first map. Pretty interesting to find it, and when you shoot it at first it attacks you.

It's not really a myth per se, but I thought it was cool how Factor 5 was able to keep the Naboo Starfighter code in Roque Squadron and the Return Of The Jedi arcade game code in Roque Squadron III secrets for a really long time before they finally released them on the Internet. I think people managed to use a Gameshark to unlock the ROTJ arcade, but nobody was able to figure out the real code.

Edit: well, a lot of people didn't even know if the ROTJ arcade was in RSIII at all, so I guess that's the myth.

I've read in several places that the Super FX game Vortex supposedly started development as a Transformers game based on Generation 2, but when that toyline proved unpopular, it was changed to the final version. The rumors have never been substantiated in any way though.

I know I knew back when the game was launched, although i was never able to unlock it. I think the correct manner of unlocking it was by meeting certain criteria, the codes were included for people with no real hardcore skill, like myself when it came to the Rogue Squadron series.
