I like games just as much as I like films, so I am always getting highly excited when actors interact with games in a movie  I already compiled a list of movies I noticed games in: 1973: Soylent Green (Computer Space cabinet & game scenes in the beginning) 1978: Dawn of the Dead (Some of the men are playing Night Driver, Gun Fight and F-1 (Namco 1976) in the arcade) 1982: WarGames (Galaga in the arcade, beginning of the film) 1982: TRON (actually all the time but esp. the scenes inside the arcade in the beginning) 1989: The Wizard (kid doing Nintendo propaganda all the time ("this is... POWERGLOVE!!1") 1989: Back to the Future II (Wild Gunman in the 80's Café in 2015) 1991: Terminator 2 - Judgement Day (Missile Command & After Burner before John gets spotted by the ) 1991: Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (Mario sequence; Nintendo slogans by Freddy) 1997: Grosse Pointe Blank (Doom 2 "arcade cabinet" featured) 1997: Tokyo Eyes (Virtua Fighter 2 on a Megalo in a Game Center; his self developed game; girl looks in a Virtual Boy) 2001: Ichi the Killer (Ichi plays Tekken 4 on PS2 in his room (?)) 2001: Wasabi (in the arcade: Samba de Amigo, House of the Dead, some Namco Horse-Games, DDR) 2003: Lost in Translation (also a scene when Scarlett wanders around a Japanese Game Center) 2004: Dare mo Shiranai / aka Nobody knows (kid plays Tekken or DragonBall on PS2, don't know exactly) 2004: Shaun of the Dead (Ed and Shaun are playing Time Splitters 2 for PS2) 2007: Die Hard 4.0 (nerd has Gears of War running in the background) 2007: Reign over Me (Adam Sandler plays Shadow of the Colossus) ------------- Any more?
There are 100's of Japanese movies that feature games. I remember seeing on on TV were the school kids were playing Virtua Cop on the Saturn. As far as I remember there is a site out there that has a list of all known moves that feature games but only western movies are mentioned. No idea of the URL but I'm sure Google or someone else here will let you know. Yakumo
An interesting one is Grosse Point Blank, which features a Doom 2 arcade cabinet. Obviously there wasn't ever a Doom 2 arcade game, so it must've been a mock-up.
Would love to know that page. I just googled a bit, but couldn't find anything. I added the mentioned two films and I just remembered two more: Dawn of the Dead (1978): Playing Night Driver & goofy looking F-1 (namco 1976) at the malls game center Shaun of the Dead (2004): Ed and Shaun are playing Time Splitters 2 on PS2 at their home and later (with Zombie-Ed) in the shed
In one of the Beethoven movies, the kids are playing Super Mario bros. 3. There was also some movie made where the plot were these broke guys do all sorts of crazy stuff to get enough money for an Xbox. And then there was that other movie with that game developer guy who lives with his Grandma or whatever.
Sudden Death (1995) One of the criminals is playing Doom 2 on a PC The Forbidden Kingdom (2008) A Dreamcast cameo Ichi the Killer (2001) Protagonist plays Tekken Tag Tournament on PS2.. It couldn't have been 4 since the film was made the year before it was released Independence Day (1996) Will Smith's character's kids were playing a SNES or PS in the living room. Couldn't tell Mars Attacks (1996) The wrestler's kids are playing Flesh Eaters, a lightgun arcade game Airplane (1 or 2?) Air traffic controllers play an Atari2600 game on the radar screens.
ave: did you know Harry Harrison has written the book that was made into Soylent Green ? And the book is called Make Room Make Room. And Harry Harrison has lived in Denmark back before Denmark became the boogy man of the Middle east ? Anyway Harry Harrison is a great author, and writer. I have read quite a few of his books. And I think there used to be a site where it had pictures with games being played in movies. I saw it from a mameworld link long ago.
There's an episode of Knight Rider where Michael is playing Pac Man while driving. And while we're on Pac Man, Jacky Chan is playing Pac Man in the back of his Mitsubishi using one of those 80's rulers that had a calculator built in for a control pad  in the movie Cannon Ball Run or Cannon Ball Run 2. I can't remember which but needless to say they're probably both before the time of many member on this board :. Yakumo
sorry for posting this link over and over again, but i think that this link is quite a good link http://www.mameworld.net/movies/
LOL CannonBall Run is too damn funny. I remember this scene, i think it was on the first one. The Sheik is one of the most funny characters of all times! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04PCWwffU6w Sheik's Sister: How good is your driving my brother? The Sheik: Alah be praised, dear sister. My driving is rivaled only by the lightning bolts from the heavens! [thunder crashes] Sheik's Sister: So you still intend to enter the race with the infidel Americans? The Sheik: The Cannonball will fall to the forces of Islam! [thunder crashes] The Sheik: My dear sister! I swear it!
Drew Carey had a Sega Saturn, Dreamcast and ....ugh...PS2 on his TV. I guess that's not a movie though.
boys in the hood had a guy playing duck hunt. an episode of Kyuryusentai Zyuranger had kids playing a Turbo Grafx 16. (odd since the Zyuranger game came out for Famicom)
I remember some scient fiction show (Dead Zone or the new Twilight Zone or something) that had a guy playing Halo, and bitched when someone interrupted him because, "he was about to beat his high score".
