It looks like some kind of Marvel game, that's the Xmen symbol there. How about in Ferris Buler's day off, where the girl spit's ice in the principal's face, and the Pac-Man death noise is heard. There's a scene in Spike Lee's movie Clockers, where the kid is playing a game called "Gangster" on a Sega VR headset. Also, Jackie Chan's homage to Street Fighter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVx8l_-nn6c
The Wrestler 2008. I watched the film yesterday. Mickey Rourke (JAM) and kid playing Wrestle Jam game on NES. In the scene, kid and JAM talking about Call of Duty 4 Screenshots:
Turkish music group, Duman. Song name is "Sor bana pisman miyim?". In the scene, guy playing with PS3
There's a Star Castle cabinet in the Ghostbusters HQ. I was watching X-Men: The Last Stand yesterday (what a pile of crap) and Leech was playing some game on 360 which was possibly Kameo?, and some kids were playing PS2 in a car, some platforming game.
I know it is not a film, but in an episode of MacGyver, there he plays Slapshot (or else it is a very similar ice hockey game) on the SMS in the end of the episode. The episode is the one where the Berlin wall has fallen, but some former Gestapo guys, they go after a man for some gold, that he has melted into "tin figures" in his toyshop.
In the film Flipper the kid was playing a Game Boy when he was at the dock. Not sure what game he was playing as all you can hear are random sounds coming from the unit. In Toy Story 2 the toys are playing on a Super Nintendo with what looks like a custom red button controller. Now, I know everyone knows about the little cameo in Toy Story 2. Not sure if many know about this one since it is quite subtle; in Toy Story 3, yet again there is a Super Nintendo in Andy's Room, though extremely blurry in the distant background it can be seen briefly.
Anyone ever seen Spaced (TV Series) in the UK? Download it if you haven't it's pretty damn funny, also certain episodes seem to center around PSX games. There's the famous episode where scenes from Resident Evil 2 were shown and a zombie theme took over that episode, and another where the main couple have an argument spliced with a tekken 3 fight to symbolize the fight itself. Spaced: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vUfBOdSmBU Vids of the Tekken fight seem to have been taken down from youtube...BOOO!
Not a movie, but Lost repeatedly references Half Life (supposedly J.J. Abrams and Gabe Newell are good friends). In the part where Sayid is trying to gather information on possible terrorists, you see one of the people he's talking to playing Half Life. Someone says something like, "you have to aim for the headcrabs."
Can't believe nobody has mentioned Sonic 1 Alpha in Wayne's World. Also there are quite a few PS1/N64 appearances in episodes of Friends.
I remember Final Fantasy 8 in Charile's Angels (played as a multiplayer with atari sounds, I think), and I second that "Friends" - both with PS1 and N64 (there's a clearly visible N64 in that "Fireball" episode where Joey is trying to write a script). I also sort of recall Chandler calling the "Sony Playstation" by name as the "best possible gift" in one of the episodes where Phoebe gets pregnant. Also, there's an Xbox in Will and Grace, mentioned by name, logo shown, screen and everything.
In the british Soaps Emmerdale and Hollyoaks...the Xbox 360 is mentioned by name regularly...almost too regularly.
In Terminator 2: Judgment Day John Connor is seen playing Afterburner in an arcade. The arcade looked just like the one I used to go to as a kid in my local mall.
They play Twisted Metal in one episode of Friends. I remember that line (though I think it was Joey who said) because it seemed like such awkward product placement, after all, why else would he say "Sony Playstation"? Yeah, everyone talks about the "Microsoft Xbox 360" in casual conversation all the time too. There's one episode of Will & Grace where they go to a toy store, and there's a whole bunch of Dreamcasts. In the first episode of The Shield, a drug dealer has a Dreamcast and Crazy Taxi is shown...which is kinda weird, since the show premiered in 2002, when the DC was basically dead already. In another episode, a kid's Xbox is stolen, and there's another blatant product placement line: "I just want my Xbox back". Halo 1 is shown.
Just watched Paul (2010) and in the scene where they're parked up in the RV behind a roadside hoarding after fleeing the comic book shop you can clearly see a US SNES with a copy of Super Mario World inserted into it on the table behind them as they discuss what to do next.
Truxton in It. One that didn't have been spotted yet by many peeps: http://www.tepg.se/showtitle.php?id=707
The other Will and Grace one also sounds EXTREMELY awkward. Ah, product placement, what an interesting, pathetic phenomenon. There's also an SNES on Andy's TV in the first sequences (when Andy's still a Kid) of Toy Story 3. It's probably there in the first two, but I cannot say for sure.
The awkward part is when an employee actually tries to sell a Dreamcast to the annoying woman character (yeah, that's not narrowing it down, since every character on the show is annoying, but I think she was a secretary or something?). I think the employee mentions the DC by name too. The DCs themselves are in boxes, so there's no gameplay shown. The toys play the Buzz Lightyear game in 2. It's not REALLY an SNES, but it looks a lot like one, especially the controller.
