an officer saving a person in that depicted manner is funny - I m just pointing out the slice of comedy in what is indeed a grave tragedy - there's no debating that.

It doesn't have to be all doom-n-gloom , we have all shown respect and I m sure we were touched by the event as we re all human beings with feelings. I just don't want to insist on reminding everyone that 32 people have been killed - overstating something is as bad as ignoring it.

 

Yeah I thought it might have been a bit off color to post that here, but heck it was up on CNN.

Oddly enough I was driving within probably 75 mile Of Virginia Tech at the time of the first shootings and didn't hear anything about it until I got home 4 or more hours later.

what happed to the background story with the kid beeing harrassed by his classmates ?

i mean its not only the opurtunity it takes a huge amount of hate to hurt so many people

and to the talk on the problem of getting guns in sweden ill bet bag of gummibears that there are easy ways to get a gun there also

just a little example some years ago we had a very similar accident in germany, erfurt a school shooting, we have relative strong gun laws i would think but the person was member in a gun club for shooting practice and so on he had a license for a pistol and owned them

but i have just to make a trip over the polish border to get a cheap gun

 

He's a friggin ambulance chasser, what did you expect? an actual professional? he's just a tacky lawyer who got himself expelled from several groups due to his complete lack of talent in pretty much everything...

About the guy being bullied around, well while I cant agree he did the right thing (that would be hunting down his old highschool classmates:lol yet bullys seem to be pretty much accepted in society, like if they were some sort of cultural and historical part of the US.

I bet that if the senate made a new law in which a bully in school could be sued like in the real life, school abuse would be over in no time.

Lets face it: high school is the nearest thing to be in jail, theres no law in that place...

 

Thing is people who flip out like this never have friends, never have any hope. I don't even have to read the news stories to know what kind of a guy he was. It's the same story with all these people, they're the "loosers" everyone makes fun of. It could be any one of us, if the situations were similar.

The difference is these people feel hopeless, and have no one to turn to (or at least think they don't.) Who's fault is it this guy picked up a gun instead of getting help? Nobody's fault, but everybody's fault. If our society continues to impress upon us to treat others in such a way this will always continue to happen.

 

That Jack Thompson thing made me just scream WHAT THE FUCK! Seriously, if people like that can make that kind of money I have a bright future ahead of me!

man in my training after school i was in the same position as he, i got bullied arround so much that my grades to a level where i nearly had to drop out
i let them do this till the 2nd year then i shaved my hair to 2 millimeters and got in some pretty ugly fight with 2 of the lets say initiators
i knew i didnt have the power to win but everytime they tried something on me they got me in their face in the next pause which can be very frustrating
things stopped pretty fast after that and now iam even friends with one of them
stranger things have happend but who cares

theres national turn-in-your-illegal-weapons amnesty in sweden right now and has been for 2 months apparently (last time was in 1993)

+4200 illegal weapons, 2 kalashnikovs, 1000 guns and revolvers, 2000 rifles and the rest airguns and "other" weapons whatever that means.

so yeah we have illegal weapons too altho it seems most are borderline antiques.

Yeah me too, although my problem was different since I was the biggest (as in tall, no fat) guy in that group so nobody could or wanted to mess with me, but they called me things anyway, specially girls since you cant beat up a woman, specially in school (and specially when the bitch was the daughter of the principal).

 

Oh man, I know exactly what you're talking about. I got fucked with constantly, at school and at home. Through Jr. Highschool and into Highschool I got my ass beat on a weekly basis, got rejected by like everyone, I never got any chicks, my parents fuckin didn't give a shit, they had thier own problems... Man I hated being a kid.

But you know, I had friends. Yeah they were loosers too, but they were cool. Just a few people as screwed up as you are to band together with, that's all it takes. And the thing is one day I woke up and it wasn't like that anymore. I personally think a bit of trial and tibulation rounds out your character a bit. This guy was in college for christssakes, all he had to do was hang on for a few more years and he would have got through it. He really seriously must have been really fucked up, really needed help badly, and you know people like that give off signs, somebody must have fucking noticed.

 

Where are those donuts now? I always like looking back at the people that took high school way too seriously. As a rather large student, I was the butt of many jokes. But, was still somewhat accepted b/c I played football, and was half decent. This was a private school, FYI. I started smoking pot my last year, and didn't have too many friends from the school after I graduated. I have a couple now (like 3) that I keep in contact w/, but that's it.

I got skinny in college, and they all got fat. For the most part, they stayed in Texas (or even Dallas) and did some cheesy job. I wound up similar, but of course took loads of chemicals and partied my ass of along the way, and did it across the world. I always felt that I really, really enjoyed my life in my 20's, and have no regrets. Considering living abroad so hard to do once you have a family, I've always felt that I "won" high school.

 

in normal school it was no problem with my size we where all pretty close in the class but one thing that helped there but made other problems was our class was a little overfilled with boys to be exact 27 boys 1 girl :noooo:
in the other classes it was normal mix and it where the mid 90s when geeks where cool :thumbsup:
but after school when i got into job training with 16 it was all fucked up now iam ok 10years working in the company made me the image of the computerproblems go to guy but thats ok since its more a matter of respect then joking
