Wait, what? geeks were cool in germany? was a gravitational singularity near germany at the time, which caused that everyone cooler that a nerd got sucked in?

Just joking, but honestly it just sounds........weird, that geeks were considered "cool", cuz that even more than being respectable...

hmmm talking about guns, and the little ghetto town I live in. Well, you all know the situations I have been out here in. But one of our leaders out here in this ghetto town has just been threatened with a gun to her head. And she got this message from the person "if you don´t get out of this building, then you are dead, and there are people who is watching you", and then she got time, and places where she had been". The sad thing is, we don´t have any cameras out here, so we are royally screwed, if you don´t know the name of the person. Or can give the police an exact sketch of who the fuck the person is.

Well, and she has reported it to the police,
and I can only say, it is no surprice out here, that the violence has come so far. In this God forsaken town. Where terrorists has lived, and maybe even still lives here . And I am not fucking joking with you guys at all. Out in this town, the minority has the majority.

well us europeans have raped the whole globe in our history, including Africa, the middle east and Oceania, and why not America.

I think it's only natural that immigrants are comming for a better life to Europe - you can't expect to benefit from another man's country and still keep him out of your doorstep.

    anyway, back to the topic.

Yes, it is in Denmark mate. Not far away from Copenhagen, where the police had been more busy kicking the young people out of the Youthhouse and used violence , and the Christian fuckedup sect known as the fatherhouse owns the ground, where the Youthhouse once was. Than protecting the innocent, and upholding the law.

Interesting that when WDK said "terrorist" you assumed "immigrant muslim". Fox news would be proud!

You might be right, but it's a dubious assumption.

As I see it people coming to make a better life isn't the problem. The problem is that many who do come make no attempt to contribute or integrate into the society they are moving to while at the same time demanding all of the benefits that society provides.

Did I make that statement based solely on that word? I never have. I was basing that on past posts that WDK has made many times. He lives in a ghetto where the majority of them are muslim immigrants.

    Exactly.

Fair enough, I wasn't around at that point. As a response to your post in isolation it seemed pretty presumptious of madhatter, but if you've been talking recently about these issues and I missed it I apologise.

    not quite my friend.

I ve met many second generation pakistani and indian people here in the UK for example, and although they re the first of their kind born in UK ground, consider themselves UK nationals. Nevertheless, they do follow their religious practices as they are also muslims (some indians are too) - just because they believe in another religion doesnt mean they re not part of the community - but you can't expect them to go to Christmas or Hannuka events can you? ;)

I'm talking more along the lines of cultural rather than religious assimilation into a society. Not bothering to learn the language, Demanding the host country conform to the previous culture, Shutting themselves into ethnic communities are all examples of what I'm talking about.

during the great immigrations to the US, I recall italians doing the same, Irish doing the same ,etc.

There were whole neighbourhoods where people were just from Sicily. A lot of underground crime started this way in the US - by the grouping of same ethnicity people aiming at bending the rules for a marginal profit , and the italian Mafia is proof. Only recently has the Mafia been limited for example.

To be fair to other religions as well, Jewish communities or neighbourhoods in England for example, are very closed, and if you have any jewish friends, you would know that if they re orthodox, they don't actively seek the mixing with other religions or cultures, no matter in what country they are. I don't blame them either, it's their tradition.

it's nothing new, and its not something that's confined to muslims, or European immigrants.

it's a human tendency, juding from the history of immigration.

Barcode: you don´t live in my town, and you don´t live in Denmark. And you can´t compare English conditions with Danish conditions here. England or the UK, if you prefer . Has always been multiracial/multicultural. aka. a multicultural society, but Denmark have never been that. Ok if you take the former Danish west indian islands aka. The Virgin islands, then ok. But not in a broad spectre. And A. Snow is on the right track, in what I am living with.
And just to let you know, I am not voting for the right side of the government in Denmark. But anyway, let us see what happens in the thread.

Sorry, I didn't realize we were talking about Denmark specifically - I haven't been to Denmark. I thought it was a general point being argued, broadly :)

I assumed he was talking generally about the issue, because it brought to my mind a situation I have seen in Belgium, where immigrants are well on their way to become more than the natives. I have a few Belgian friends who are not pleased with the situation, and although I understand them I have always tried to keep a balanced view on subjects - people have a right to a better life in my book, native or immigrant, and if their country is fucked up..well , they look elsewhere to survive and make it big maybe.

A great example for me is the Kennedy family, who left Ireland for a better chance in the US.
