- Tomb Raider 1 1995 Prototype - Tomb Raider Angel Of Darkness E3 Version - Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition - Resident Evil 5 E3 Demo - Resident Evil 5 TGS Demo
I've got plenty of holy grails. Since I'm a huge Bungie fan, most are related to that. Marathon 2 beta. Oni build with multiplayer. Phoniex build before cut. Halo RTS build. Halo Third Person build. Last Halo PC build (before Halo release) Halo 2 campaign cut ending mission. Halo 2 E3 2003 build.
I wish they would publish (or someone would leak) the Halo 2 E3 2003 scripted demo-level. It looked much more exciting than any stage in the actual game. I wish they'd kept many of those ideas such as the destructable street cars, the big cities, the turrets. The Halo 2 gameplay footage is one of my best E3 memories.
My current wishlist of "holy grails" (which may or may not be the same as previous lists I have posted 1.Any unreleased code, tools or technical info for the Command & Conquer series (with the following being at the top of my list) 1a.Source code, unknown/unreleased technical information (including anything that would aid in reverse engineering the game) and unreleased tools (e.g. the tools used for pre-rendered lightmaps) for Command & Conquer Renegade (source code to this game and the tools/editor/etc would be my ultimate holy grail) 1b.Tools and information related to the EALayer3 music data (and related data like PathMusic and other audio data) used in C&C 3:Tiberium Wars, Red Alert 3 and C&C 4:Tiberian Twilight 1c.Tools and information related to the UI file format for C&C3, RA3 and C&C4 (which was based on Flash) 1d.Shader source files and related info for C&C3, RA3 and C&C4 2.Anything at all connected to Sentinel Worlds: Future Magic or related games 3.Mod tools/code/tech info for Ghostbusters: The Video Game 4.Technical info/file formats/tools/code for Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 to allow full modding of the game and creation of all the different asset types in the game (flat rides, shops, coaster track, coaster cars, paths, scenery, ride events etc) 5.Although its not a game, its still a holy grail for me,the release of more pieces of source code for my Nokia N900 Linux-based mobile phone.
Yeah, no kidding. I waited about a year and a half in anticipation in 2003, hoping it was in the campaign. I've been hoping to play it ever since.
My holy grail was Akira for the Megadrive, SNES, Gameboy and Game Gear until a few weeks ago. You see, I put in around 5 months of research into tracking down some of the devs in preperation for an article for The Gaming Liberty. One person led to another, one of their friends led to another, etc. It took ages. Sadly I pretty much contacted all the big dogs from development after months of research and even they said no copies exsist. It's a real shame but not only considering the time I put into it but it truly looks like this game is ost for good. Still, I'm glad I put the work in and at least got a definitive answer. Apart from that I'd love to see B.C The videos online make it look like it could have been superb!
One of my holy grails may finally be surfacing soon: http://segaage.com/auth/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=49&threadid=58722 I can only hope this isn't a hoax - it sure looks legitimate...
Hoax? "Hello, everybody, i had a good news, i got a Shenmue Beta for Sega Saturn with a debugger, i had it thanks to my cousin that he worked at Sega, now he working with us and Valve too." tomsoftmedia (0) (Tr?nh Nh?t Quang) posts: 15 < Flicky > joined: 10/19/2011 Viet Nam It's very likely.
Agreed - how long does it take to create an .iso? About 5 minutes. How long does it take to upload an .iso to a file hosting site (like Megaupload)? Even on a slow connection, you could get a disc up in an hour or two. How long do we have to wait because he's 'busy'? About 3 months from the original post... True, that doesn't prove he's lying - but not even ONE screenshot of it running? "When i fixed the bug, i will immediately publish it to the internet." Is he having a dig at the Geist Force release, I wonder?
My ultimate holy grail would be the original 6 Mbit version of Super Turrican with all deleted enemies/bosses, the missing cloud stage, the lost gun mode and of course the music before it was cut to 4 Mbit. Factor 5 still has it but will we ever see it? I'd also like to see the original GBA Shantae Advance and a few other nice looking ones like Odema and the Magic Book that didn't make it for that system. And I want to take a peek at Viewpoint 2064 for the N64 and maybe the mysterious Freak Boy. Last but not least the Amiga version of Putty Squad that was hyped so much that I'd like to see what's really behind this game.
My holy grail is Resident Evil 1.5. And maybe Resident Evil 1 Co-Op beta. Also, Half-Life Playstation2 mod tools, and Saturn Shenmue.
