Curious what you are all using or plan to buy soon? I'm on an HTC HD2 modded to run android froyo 2.2 with htc sense. And if you refuse to use a cell phone and only use a walkee talkee and landline, post also!
iPhone 3G iOS 4.1 Not upgrading, I like the slower processor as I can be sure all my apps work for all devices.
I've been using a Nokia N82 for the better part of the past two years - still a dream phone in my opinion, the camera is grand (xenon flash!) and I love the 'candybar' form factor. I don't care much for the touch-only smartphones nowadays, I think they are too bulky. However, its speaker broke down in august so I'm back to using this now: it works fine for calls but T9 is slow, volume sucks and it won't work on 3G networks...
I use a Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6 (FroYo). I'm a huge android fan, though I must say I've always disliked SenseUI.
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=1505 I do not like alot of the smart phones that are out, its non touch screen "I hate Touch Screens", Its Ruggedized and It stands Up"Gets Dropped Atleast Once a Day" to to me for more than a year so far. I would not want any other phone, other than this one, the only thing I wish it had was a sim card so I could use it with the droid for other purposes ...
My old SE K750 is about to die. I was looking for a new phone, but i'm not interested on Iphone's, Blackberry's or anything bulky like those. I'll check HTC, Nokia or SE. I saw the SE Xperia X10 Mini and seems really cool.
I use a T-Mobile G1 rooted and running cyanogenmod 6 after having used SuperE for a little bit. I love the physical keyboard on the G1 as i can type really well and fairly quick on it which is the best thing i like so far about the phone (had it a week) although it's mainly all good apart from crashing and performance issue's i've encountered with various roms.
Iphone 3Gs with OS 4.0 and Jailbreak for quality options unlike the shit Apple offer. Apple really do cripple their own hardware. No flash support, no TV out except for ipod, pisspoor spell checker, really stupid multi tasking that is more of a pain most of the time and bad custom menus. Now do a Jailbreak and all is fixed. Well, flash suport is still in its early beta days but at least i can now access the mc donalds cupon page for discounts.
I'm a big apple fan and was using an iphone 2g until I upgraded to my HTC. I know what you mean by apple's stubborn refusal to integrate flash or to keep IOS closed in general. I think they've become so obsessed with having a closed controlled experience its starting to really hurt them. Its one thing to keep their operating systems only on apple hardware, but they're now crippeling the software. Found all the posts here interesting. For the G1 user, I know someone who has one with sd card issues, I wonder if certain batches were bad?
Sony Ericsson K800i. It's a great phone with lots of features. It's 4 years old, but still alot better than most phones they sell today. I was going to buy the new C902, but after seeing it's specs and the OS I didn't think it was that much better.
Palm Centro-In blue I think I will be changing it soon. It was my dad's phone and I've had it for almost two years now. It's a great phone though. I've never had an issue with it in two years of use. The OS is a bit old fashioned, but it allows downloading lots of applications.
I used to have a Sony Ericsson W508 until a month ago when I lost it :banghead: Right now I got this one: It's a Nokia X3, it's not as good as the W508 but it was the best non-touchscreen phone my carrier had in the moment for my contract. It's pretty decent phone in general, but its email app is just awful and since I use it a lot maybe I'll end changing it in some time... EDIT: Fuck, less than a month of use and the whole keypad already died?? It seems like a firmware error to me, but I'll have to spend all the damn morning in RMA because of this. I'm starting to hate this phone...:dammit:
Blackberry 8900 Curve. But the idiots in the UAE are looking to ban the Blackberry early next month, if it happens work will replace with a iPhone - Really not happy hate touch screen phones.
