Got my ye old Tilt2 ( HTC TouchPro2 aka Rhodium ) love the damn thing... Winmo, Ubuntu ( or any armv6 distro... i've gotten fedora to work on it... ), Android and Rockbox ( which runs under android so i can still use it as a phone \o/ ) HTC phones ftw!
This, exactly. Except I got mine about when it first went on sale. Froyo/Cyanogen 6 is running a lot better than 2.1 did (and a lot better than the beta and RC versions of Cyanogen 6 ran).
I never found a phone (besides other SE K series) that made better pictures than these! I really miss my K800~!
HTC Hero with Android 2.1....still pretty nice, but I want a Desire or Desire HD in the near future. But yeah, HTC FTW.
Samsung Galaxy S Although every now and then I like to go a bit retro and use: Or my personal favourite phone of all time:
iPhone 3G. I wanted a white iPhone 4, but as Apple don't seem to be able to manage that I stuck with my 3G. I reckon we'll see the iPhone 5 or 4GS earlier than the normal June/July update next year, and I'll be first in line as long as there's no signal problems.
Hmm... i ran into issue's with having to force stuff to close and freezing but having returned back to cyanogenmod 6 after testing other roms things seem to be working a lot better which might be down to the fact i did something extra when installing it this time over last or whatever it may be.
Iphone 4, and man is it better then my old Iphone 3G, the screen is such a world of difference and so is the camera.
Here's mine, the Samsung SGH-A737: It works, and it's perfectly fine for making calls and texting. Technically it can browse the internet, but since it doesn't have a touchscreen that feature is pretty much useless. It's very compact, which is a plus. I've had it for over two years now and it's starting to show its age. There's a dark spot on the screen, and the disconnect button is messed up; you have to press it several times for it to work. I'd really like to get a new, internet capable phone like the EVO or something. I kinda wanted an iPhone at one point, but I think Android phones are probably better.
Man, what a great phone, my favorite digital cellphone of all time! Never had an issue with it, and the screen was plain awesome. The scroll button was a really nice touch as well. Right now I've got a Samsung F250, not so great but gets the job done.
This is surprising since android, in my opinion, is a step up from the IOS and with current builds is very slick. IOS really hasn't changed much since the iphone launch, except for search features and now multitasking. Can you share what hes getting frustrated with?
I used to own a Nokia 7110.. then a SE P800 and then a SE P990 now I live with a Nokia N900 and it's a dream:
Same here. Don't agree that it's a particularly great mobile, though - the screen is shit, the camera is shit, the shutter is always opening when I don't want it to, and it's pretty bulky (oddly enough the Ericsson phones I've owned have got bigger each time - T28 first, then T610, then this). It was nice and cheap on pay as you go, though, and that's all I need. One thing I will say, though, is that it's solid. A girl I know who has one has run it over by accident and had it thrown out of a window. Still soldiering on despite obvious cosmetic damage.
Unfortunately since my parents pay the bill I've always been tied to US Cellular which is notorious for its crappy phones.. My first (and second due to a broken screen..) phone was a Kyocer Slider Remix. For it's time I really loved this phone for its MP3 capabilities and it was when people were raging over the Razr so it was different and cool. My second (or thrid and fourth if were adding broken screens together... at least this time it wasn't my fault) phone was a LG UX-280. I really wanted the slider keyboard, and I really enjoyed this phone too. My current phone is a HTC Snap. US Cellular last black Friday weekend was doing a every phone is free sale so I jumped on it to get a cool smartphone and I went with the WinMo 6.1 phone since everyone else in my family was getting the same blackberry and they were sold out of HTC Touch Pro 2s. So far I'm enjoy it a lot, but the lack of support for programs and such was disappointing. Internet tethering is very useful during long car rides and such though. Kind of nice to usually be able to watch Netflix anywhere on my laptop. I've noticed though the Galaxy S is coming out for US Cellular next month and I'm really considering trying to find one to get cheaply since due to contracts I have to wait till May to get a new phone at US Cellular's discount.. Anyone know of ways to get phones cheaper than the ridiculous retail prices carriers have? It also sucks since US Cellular doesn't use SIM cards due to crappy CDMA.
I currently have a SE Xperia X2. I love the hardware to death, I want to punch someone in the face over the OS (I like Winmo but SE ****ed this thing up). I'm crossing my fingers WinMo 7 turns out better and MS is more strict on phone makers who use it.
Buy them broken and repair them yourself. That's what I do. I'm currently using an iPhone 1st gen and a 3gs. I've also got and HD2(Leo) on its way to my house via UPS. Once I find a better WinMo ROM and install a decent Android ROM I'll probably start using that.
