Replaced the battery and fuses on my Dreamcast with the metal fan. It took me about two hours to find the real problem on why it wouldn't turn on. I thought it was the fan, so I soldered wires to the board from the fan. Same problem. And then it turned out it was the fuses, as they are not supposed to touch anything, especially the metal backing of the controller port. Added some electrical tape to insulate the fuses and it works.

Fixed some wireless snes control pads due to battery leakage. Never used them before, got them a long time ago in a snes lot. I shouldn't have wasted my time these things suck! I am either going to put them in the bin (where they belong) or give them away when a sell a snes next (& then they can throw them away).

I got a lot of two ps1 systems, both have a damaged disc spindle.
Cleaned 1 from the inside, and found out that it has a chip in it too.
Used some glue too fix the spindle. And system is working as new.

I still have too fix the second one, has (i think) a bad fuse for the controller port, and a broken spindle

Replaced lasers In the PSX DESR-5000. In my the PSX are KWS-200A and KHS-400C. KWS-200A I found on eBay, original and genuine, replaced with no problems, the settings are not required. The original and current KHS-400C - not found. (At affordable prices). Not genuine KHS-400C installed in the PSX would not. So I left the old KHS-400C, having a thorough cleaning and adjustment. Now everything works fine.:friendly_wink:

Yeah the first time I was too busy worrying about the shoulder buttons then noticed the volume slider on my desk after screwing it back together. Think I broke the power on the second attempt at putting it together. Oh well, 99c got me a new one. :)

Also pulled my American SNES out and gave it a good cleaning. Opened it up to discover it has the S-ENC chip so yay, component for me!

After adding a S-Video port to my SNES, I found that it wouldn't turn on anymore. After a while, I realized that the grounds were poorly wired, so I soldered a bit of wired to the lugnut. Now it works fine and colors are more vibrant.

I had to attach the ground to the nut, and I was not about to take it apart. It was a minor annoyance to fit the wires so it didn't bother the shielding.

de yellowing remote control PSX DESR.
He came quite yellow, so I used a known technique(The “Retr0bright” Project). But I've only used hydrogen peroxide (3%) and VanishOxi. Part I pressed down with stones, not to pop up. After two days (about 16-18 hours) under the sun yellowness disappeared.
Have not worked a few buttons. I found a rupture of one of the printed conductors (next to the joystick)(I think that from corrosion - sweaty hands:dejection:))eliminate soldering, top coated with lacquer. Now everything is OK.

Dreamcast and PS1 controls, some I had problem and I had to redo tracks and replace sensors, in addition to the conventional replacement of rubbers.

It is extremely gratifying to see old appliances back to work, has a lot of things to fix here which I will need the help of the masters in electronics that are here.

In the process of repairing an XBOX Xecuter 3 front panel. The console I scored very cheap, unfortunately the socket for the smaller of the 2 plugs was knocked off but was able to re-solder with success. Next problem is that both blue LED's that indicate otheer BIOS mode were dead. LED's had voltage both ways rather than blocking one way. Test to confirm was to de-solder the dead leds from the board and to just hold in place a regular 3mm led, the LED worked. So have just placed an order through Element some lovely right angled blue SMD LED's (3mm x 1mm). Had to order more stuff to get to the +$45 for free shipping (or else $2 LED's + $12 postage).

Unfortunately I did not do photos. (In the old messages about PSX DESR on this forum had a few photos.) But in reality all it is possible understood if we act slowly and gently. I it was a first experience on the Repair of the PSX DESR, and it worked. The only problem - find genuine spare parts.

Just repaired my PSone power jack. Solder was broken away over the years of transporting this thing around. Just added some fresh solder to the middle pin, and she turns on all good now ^^

I fixed one of those cheap S-Video cables for Nintendo systems. I rewired the damn thing, and figured out that the Yellow Wire from the output port was supposed to be wired to the Blue wire in the S-Video cable. The Blue Wire that was from output, I wired it to the Brown Wire. Now everything works properly, though I'm not sure about what to do with that extra wire that's hanging out, especially when 6 pins are filled in on the cable, and not one is composite video. My only complaint is that I notice that the video has become pixelated, as in that the video has vertical and horizontal scanlines that make a grid that one can't really see unless you pay attention. Everything is sharper by the way.
