There are a few people ive talked too who proved they have the game, BUT for some reason they feel the need to not share.
What is so special about this beta that makes it so nobody will upload it anywhere?

I dont see why they dont. What happens if, the disk gets damaged one day? Corrupt? CRC errors? Destroyed? Burned in house fire? or lost? Its gone, and since you did not upload it, well, its gone.

NOTE: No longer pi**ed off because 1.5 came out. Sorry. :love-struck:

It will be released, just not at this current date.

Two major reasons, one it's sorta a elite unreleased game to have so brings a bit of envy from fans, other is the fact that capcom could go after the person who releases it. Won't mention who but someone had a beta of re-zero on 64 and just releasing pictures alone capcom pursued this person with legal action resulting in quite a scare I would imagine. Point being, it's really just a status and legal thing, but theres a chance capcom might not even care since re2 didn't end up like 1.5.

They could just randomly upload it to places you know. Be anonymous.

Example: Upload the game WHILE using ultrasurf, to hide your IP, then share the link on fake accounts for sites. Within an hour, the game would be downloaded and mirrored at least 10000 times.

I believe the people working on the project are not only avoiding confrontation from Capcom, but also adhering to professional standards for a franchise they are fond of (at least, the earlier titles, anyways).

Patience. It'll all come together eventually. :]

I've wondered this myself. I figure once it gets released my The Team, any burned copy of 1.5 out there will be worth nothing. So IMO, there is no point in holding onto it. I could see some collectors scrambling to sell their copy before it looses it's value.

Honestly, it's getting released this year by The Team, but when this year, it is unknown.

It has nothing to do with that. Team Sandwich is working around the clock to finish their improved version of 1.5, a much more playable, and complete build. Not to mention, a hell of a lot more user friendly.

Releasing 1.5, would sort of take away their hype that keeps them going so strong. It would shit all over them.

After all their hard work, they deserve the right to release both, thus earning them the 1.5 debut release name.

    Just be patient.

Nothing is ever anonymous, haven't you learned anything from being online?

Yeah I am patient. It's been over 15 years, what another 6 or so months? I'd rather they make it as polished as possible. If the Christmas teaser was any indication, they can make custom cutscenes. They showed cutscene script in an advent video.

No reason to start getting an attitude

You're not going to get anyone to release anything they have so stop trying. That's all this thread is and you know it.

If you honestly believe anything can truly be done anonymously on the internet, then you're clueless. Sorry, but that's the truth. Everything you do on the internet leaves a trace. Anyone that says any different is a liar or ignorant.

Most libraries require you to have a card to use a computer these days. Even if they don't, they easily limit what and how large of a file you can upload somewhere. Not to mention any possible security cameras.

    A library....made me laugh lol

It would be trivial to even just drive around, find some open wifi and upload it.

I dont see why you all think it would be so hard to upload something and not be tracked.

Not that I even care about someone actually doing it - but it could be done easily enough.

Just go to an internet cafe ...

I dare Capcom-FBI to track a file in the most filled of shit computers of all time.

What's greedy about a team of people taking an unfinished game and finishing it up (on their own time, without any kind of pay and possibly time away from their families) then putting it out there FOR FREE?

It's only greed when money is involved. Also very few copies of it exist. Meaning not a whole lot of people have made a great deal of money from it. The greed argument here doesn't work so give up on using that.

You clearly have no idea how collecting or releasing stuff like this works if you believe that greed is the biggest reason people hold onto or release games like this.

The internet is anonymous if you want it to be.
    Like the suggestions above.

You guys should just stop with this greed. There are MANY MANY people who want this, and you guys keep them to yourselves. Its not right. Sure, a "release" is possibly coming, but no offence to him, but the guy who runs the youtube for the release keeps typing things that NOBODY understands. Look at the comments.

THE GREED ARGUMENT DOES STILL APPLY. It dont matter if there freely modifying it. Thats there choice, but they decide to not release the untouched versions, which is probably what alot of us would want anyways. Thats greed.

It's threads like this that make anyone that have it feel even more special, you know.

Anyone that would release it without any hesitation would do so without needing to be told. Since that's obviously not happening...not much else can be done.

An internet cafe could never work, surely they have cameras that'd identify you. All this ridiculous talk of trying to upload the game anonymously makes me wonder how it's going to uploaded when it is released, though. I wonder if they're going to try to go far in covering their tracks?

If you were worried about the fingerprint of the laptop (hardware, browser, extensions etc) - you could go buy some crappy laptop from a recycling place, drive around until you find open wifi, upload it, then burn the laptop.

All very extreme to upload a game I dont care about, but people saying it couldnt be done (I dont know or care if this is even required, but still) are just wrong.

However, the guy who just seems to be demanding someone release it - you need to get a clue and chill out.
