Ok I'm starting to turn around my opinion on this sack of shit. or maybe not as much, since I just called it a sack of shit.

This gif just made me lol, to what's just happened recently.

 

Got mine this morning loving it. Netflix and youtube run fantastic on this thing and video chat smooth. Love the universal remote feature.

 

Never thought I'd say it looks promising but after reading a few things about the features Nintendo said nothing about until people saw them, This thing really does look promising.

Nintendo treating indie devs well? Check
Online that works? apprently
Stupid people bricking their system during firmware update? Check.

 

I've watched a few collector's videos about the Wii U (you know people who actually take in what games give them?) they said basically it's a good system, but there's no real 'wow factors' to it. As it feels more of an update than a new generation system.

 

I wonder how many people sent Wii U's to VGA day one to get sealed and graded

 

I want to burn the VGA to the ground.

I think now that I'm lightening up on Nintendo I'll hate on them for a bit.

We should start grading games at a 50% authorization fee. We could clean the fuck up. Plus beable to build a Wii U PS3 Super computer that rivals Shodan and Glados.

I've seen a few posts of people trying regular Wii games and they look great on the Wii U. Supposedly it doesn't upscale but to have Mario Galaxy through hdmi may be worth it

That is correct , seems so far that would be the way to go.

They can still be used in some games , the Wii U included a sensor bar for them.

 

Still mightily underwhelmed.

So its 720p and anything above that will be upscaled? in 2012? when there are tablets, TABLETS that surpass 1080p for only $50 more?

If consoles die its because of shit like this, and lets be honest the Wii having shitty old hardware was a real pain in the arse, but WiiU is going to be surpassed by phones in a year or less.

also, Smash Stack works on Wii U apparently, marcan hinted that nintendo's 'fix' against bootmii in wii mode was just the lack of a reset button, be kinda nice if they roll all over wii mode already
