With all Microsoft's back tracking are we reconsidering the XBOX One?

Figure out a way to connect it to an Arduino Esplora & LCD screen to make what NEO GEO X should have been and you'll win the Internet.

There were also a report[1] that this "sharing" would have been up to a 1 hour demo concluding with a link to buy the game in the xbox marketplace.

Not sure about the buggy lan chipset but i've seen people use them as media players streaming 720 and 1080 videos over network so it can't be that buggy

i want one to use as a low powered download box / multi purpose box i can hook up to a tv and also use for emulators and media playback.

there's other options out there now but the pi is relatively cheap and easy

I copied the wrong thing (on my phone ATM), but that's what was supposed to be the plan. If that's not the case, then indeed you are correct

Microsoft is a wait-and-see game at this point, they lost their chance of me buying it at launch with all their crap. I will see if they stick to their new plan or not, and how it works. I moved away from Sony as well for a while after the OtherOS and hack-fest, but they regained my trust. Kinect is still a sour point for me, and one I expect them to rectify within the year hopefully.

If they were to remove 24-hour chek-ins and requiring a connected Kinect, I'd reconsider getting one. But the way they've been messing up their products, starting with Windows 8, the chances of me buying one is 20% right now.

Ben Heck did something Similar with MAME . I'm using his same basic Idea Only with a Mame install that Runs Neo Geo games using the Neo Geo X sticks.

Microsoft does what it wants to, and holds the consumer captive.

Remember the original xbox 360 dash?

Look at it now, 70% of the screen is now ads.

Remember how when xbox (original) was killed off the games you had on live
vanished almost instantly? How your money was wasted ? The lie of backwards compat to placate the masses?

They won't fool me again, xbox one will be a shitty impersonation of the apple and android
    marketplace.

    the worst part?

When they realize the whole windows 8 /rt approach is a failure and try something radically different that
will get pushed to xbox one.

With the level of authenticate and security on it, you won't even be able to enjoy a hacked or jtag xbox one.

I'm more likely to buy a Xbox 360 when the Xbox One comes out. As Mircosoft said themselves, if you don't like the rules get a 360. Source

Even with the backtracking the Xbox One is no buy for me. Mainly due to Mircosoft's persistent attempts of trying to remove the second hand market. My family is my rather large and we share games ALL the time. Half the games at my house aren't mine, and half of my games are everywhere at my other relatives house. The confusing policies Microsoft has set up, and the near loss of physical media, would make for too much of a headache to deal with. Plus I do enjoy hobby shopping for used games as the console ages.

I bet Sony would've patched something like the planned DLC in anyway, they just realized announcing it straight away would've been bad PR after what happened with the XBone. Then again either or both of them will probably put something like this in again, just mark my words. I know Sony said they wouldn't, but they also said PS2 software BC wouldn't be possible with all PS3s....ha. Still, I'm probably gonna get them both at some point, just not at launch, because getting consoles at launch is for suckers.

...but they did remove the 24-hour check-ins.

Good, that's one problem down, for now at least. I don't really care for online games, so forcing me or others that aren't part of that group of gamers would be crossing the line.

Still, to think that this is the next-gen, it's becoming more of a tun off than the last one. If things continue in this direction, it's going to be hard for me to remain a gamer when it comes to new releases.

If I can just play some of the XBOX One games I'm interested in I'll be happy. The Last of US was way better than ANY first party microsoft game I've played. So going PS4 first is the wise choice.

I'm going to wait. It would be something to get in the future when the price comes down, seeing as I'm getting a PS4. Even though they backpedaled on the policies, I don't trust them a whole lot. Might as well wait 'till it becomes cheaper, games are out, and it's far enough into the future where I don't have to be paranoid about the policies coming back.

I am also interested in Ryse.

But really the kinect is what is really keeping me from wanting one now.

And the exclusives are all that i'm interested in really. Because i've already got a more powerful gaming PC. And I wish Dead Rising 3 was coming to PC because it could obviously be done and it would allow proper Anti Aliasing and the possibility to disable that absurd Chromatic Aberration they've got going on it.

I'd rather want Dead Rising 3 to not be shit like parts 1 and 2.

It looks completely different to the first two, i managed to squeeze about 20 hours out of 2, lengthened by the trainer i found that made a lot of fun.

Hope 3 comes out on PC.

3 will probably be multiplatform eventually. There's the inevitable sidestory with Frank West.

    Not sure if sarcasm...

But really, they tried this once, who's to say they won't try it again once if they're back in a position of power? They clearly thought that since the 360 did so well, they could do whatever they wanted and people would buy it. You saw the same cockiness from Sony during the PS3 reveal, they'd just come off the success of the PS2 and they thought the PS3 also being a success was a sure thing.

Played through Last of Us and enjoyed it alot, but didnt really have any desire to play it again. However, I beat Alan Wake twice on Xbox and one on PC, so Qhantum Break has my attention. Not getting either at launch, but the console with the better lineup in year one will be my purchase.
