With all Microsoft's back tracking are we reconsidering the XBOX One?

Oh there goes 7force hating on something again for the sake of hating one. It's getting quite endearing.

I am heavily thinking of picking up Alan Wake as that's one 360 exclusive that interests me. I will play through the last of us again just to see if I can fullly upgrade Joel (for that trophy) and get through the game faster with the Knowledge I've gained from playing through it the first time. That and Ellie's Potty mouth! I haven't touched multiplayer either.

But yeah Alan Wake is worth playing then?

I can't think of a single console I've ever owned where people couldn't "play my games on my console" - this is a complete non-feature. If it had said "consoles" then it might have had some use (because picking up the disc and carrying it over to another machine is Just So Hard), but as written all it suggests is "well, we considered restricting even this functionality, but then decided it probably wouldn't fly".

 

I think with the downloadable games on 360 (and maybe PS3, I don't have any other accounts on mine) the games are tied to a certain account, so the system they had allowed you to share digital games with your friends and family.

Google "xbox one family sharing" and you can see the reports of supposely being able to share with "family members" (aka, anyone you add to your account) and play on different consoles.

Yes, I did read it - and the descriptions of what was supposed to be allowed was so vague and contradictory that you really can't make anything of it.

You seem to be taking the most optimistic and liberal interpretation, and I am taking the most pessimistic one.

Seeing as the fingerprints of some ex-EA scumbag were all over the system, I think my position is most likely to be the more accurate one.

I also think it's quite funny that you seem to find the damage control announcements from some suit more credible than something that was written by a person that was responsible for implementing it.

 

I dont know anything, I know as much as everyone else. Its just how it was billed and then "an engineer" (on pastebin, reliable and verifiable source there! I have another hot source - http://pastebin.com/EmEneFKw) says different and Microsoft come out and say "No, its just like we said - no time limits"


Dont get me wrong, I am sure there can be plenty of backtracking or ass covering with these comments - but the sharing thing is how they said it originally, then they defended it. We arent getting it anymore anyway, but I miss that feature (as it was advertised).

If it wasnt going to happen how it seemed, then sure - I dont miss it. But thats not really the point, everything is speculation or interpretation until its actually released. We can only go off what Microsoft said their console was going to do - which is the information I was using.

Though I do agree with your sentiment about EA

 

MS isn't going to remove the Kintec. Unless devs don't use it, or allow games to be played without having it. Since it's default now, much like the Wii Remote was, Devs are probably going to use it even when the game doesn't need it, and have no options to change it.

 

I'd say even less, since MS are messing around with alot of stuff so close to launch. They could screw up everything if there is another RROD fiasco or anything along those lines

I was always going to get a PS4, i've stuck with sony since the PS1 and i dont regret it. 360 was a great console though

Here's the source of the Rumor about Kinectless XBOX One. Now people are claiming Microsoft is saying NO. But nobody thought the XBOX 360 Elite was real.

 

A good idea is just wait. Not sure why everyone believes rumours and other bullshit. Why is everyone in such a rush :/

 

It's going to be at least 2 years before I get an XBOX One. But PS4, I want ASAP but I still have 360 and PS3 games to play through and looking at the games coming out for PS3 into next year The PS3 is far far from done at this point, 360 not so sure there's hardly anything coming out for it NOW but there are exclusives in the back log that I want to give a spin, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Alan Wake never got around to those.

By the time I finish the backlog There may even be a price drop or two on the Next gen systems and the games on said systems that I want.

 

Yes, Alan Wake was fantastic.

And Lost Odyssey is the best JRPG since... Panzer Dragoon Saga I guess.
