Not sure about the non-servicable hard drive and what that means exactly. In the wired.com pics you can see its a standard notebook drive. Maybe they glue it in or something?

 

Maybe, My guess though is they are speaking about the average user that won't take apart their system to reach it. Doesn't mean it can't be done.

Do you guys not remember the original Xbox? It too had a standard IDE hard drive, but you couldn't replace it without jumping through significant hoops.

 

It accept external storage, just plug your 4 TB external HDD, that's all

i think X'1 PS3 and X360 will be this hardware which one will be my last one. I think i will buy wii u. because i give away my wii. so we u will be also.
But... will play next gen games on PC.

 

I had this feeling while watching their trailer... They never show who the guys are fighting. The only thing they show is that submarine at the end... but with all that devestation I bet it will be aliens or monsters.

I still cannot figure it out why they call it XBOX One. Does not make sense at all.

I do feel sorry for a kid If asking parent to get XBOXone and end up getting Original XBOX instead.

 

I don't. The kid will be getting a better system, & the mom won't have to pay nearly as much. Win-win. Playing the new COD online wasn't gunna help little Timmy with his social skills, either.

The original Xbox 1 is hard to find locally at least here in California. You'd have to find a local game shop that's not owned by Gamestop and that sells retro games and hope that they have one. And theres ebay of course.

I think if a mom bought her son the original Xbox 1 with Jet Set Radio Future and not the new Xbox One she'd be doing him a favor.

 

Usually people selling the first Xbox call them "oXboX" Original Xbox , I doubt moms will have confusion buying the kids an original Xbox at Best Buy or Walmart ect.

 

I really hate how Microsoft has had brief moments of brilliance followed by sheer stupidity.

Original Xbox: "Ok, here's Halo. Now we're going to make a lot of random games with some neat ideas that maybe need some more polish (Nightcaster, Azurik, Blood Wake, Kung Fu Chaos). OK, now we've killed all those studios, here's Mech Assault. OK, now we'll release Mech Assault 2 the week before (or after, can't remember) Halo 2. What? It didn't sell well? How? Surely Halo 2 had nothing to do with this. Well no more Mech Assault. OK, here's Crimson Skies towards the end of the Xbox life span. Eh, it didn't sell well, to the abyss with ye. OK creator of Panzer Dragoon, you make a game. Wait, we don't want to release it in the states. OK, a small publisher can release a small printing in the states. Wait, it didn't sell well in Japan or the states? OK maker of Panzer Dragoon, you can't make games anymore, just run our Japanese offices 'cuz you're the only Japanese employee we have."

Xbox 360: "OK, we've got Rare, so let's have them finish that Kameo thing and get a new Perfect Dark and this Viva Pinata/Banjo Kazooie stuff. And let's hire the Final Fantasy and fund his company. And let's get Bio Ware to make an awesome space opera RPG for us. And let's actually publish Ninja Gaiden 2. And hey, we've got Remedy, you guys, make a nice psychological thriller for us. And Epic, you make Gears of War. Here Bizarre, make more PGR.

OK, Rare, Kameo and Perfect Dark only sold like, a million copies, but Halo sells like, 10 million, so you guys make Wii Sports rip-offs now. Um, Bio Ware, we don't really care about you anymore, so just... yeah, EA you can have them and ruin them. OK Fasa, you guys took that Shadowrun thing and made it something unrelated to what it is, but no one bought it, so you just die. And... Ensemble Studios, we're going to kill you off for no particular reason. Lost Odyssey? Only sold a million, fuck that, no need, get gone Sakaguchi. Wait, Futatsugi is leaving, we have no more Japanese employees (daw!). Oh, Remedy, your game didn't sell well on day one, I mean, it's sold around 3 million now, but that's irrelevant, it should have sold 5 million on day one. Just... make something else, Alan Wake didn't work. And... hey look, we can get timed-exclusive DLC if we throw money at people, that should work and make people want our system!"

And now they don't even seem to have that "initial moment of greatness" they had with their previous consoles. Now it looks like they're just shitting the bed from day one. Think I'll stick with the Wii U, I'm more of a gamer than a TV show enthusiast.
