On the used games front, Microsoft says it's up to publishers. (Great...) "Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once."

Continuing with the "Ugh, really?" news, to the surprise of no one: "In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers. Microsoft does not receive any compensation as part of this. In addition, third party publishers can enable you to give games to friends. Loaning or renting games won’t be available at launch, but we are exploring the possibilities with our partners."

So the console is a brick after the generation is over due to the check-ins? Not that I was seriously entertaining the idea before, but this is the final nail in the coffin for me.

So I guess the Next Next Gen will be Nintendo whatever they call it, PS5 and Steam Box. Cuz the XBOX is dead

An interesting point came up somewhere since both XBOX One and PS4 are X86, it is theoretically possible for these games to be hacked to run on PCs. While the PS4 is probably going to Run Linux thus making that harder, The XBOX One games might be a simple process to trick the game into thinking the Windows 8 install is an XBOX One and thus if you have a High Enough End PC You'll be Playing XBOX One games, DRM Free.

    IN THEORY.

It sure is. Used game shops in Japan are amazing mechas with thousands of used games in new condition. Capcom tried in the 90's to stop used games but did anyone give a shit? Nope. I bet they'll be loving the DRM on the PS4 and the new system on the new Xbox.

Basically, if no used games are allowed this system will flop big time in Japan. More than the original XBOX did. At least the 360 is still going here.

Let me present a theory. Microsoft knows they lost Japan, and that Japan will never give two shits about the XBOX right? The heafty DRM on the XBOX one probably took that into account. I even heard a rumor that the XBOX One won't even release in Japan. Ok so we know this, and the Wii U is out with No DRM it's still region locked and not selling like shit (When is almost 4 million in less than a year selling like shit?) So there's that and Sony has gone on record with both the fact that the PS4 won't have DRM and does not require online AT ALL to the point where a Sony Exec acknowledged that there are places where internet is shit.

Could it be, Microsoft is pulling this shit becuase they think, since Japan is lost to them anyway they can get away with it and could it also be that Sony knowing they have Japan to fight over, know that even if they tired, they couldn't get away with it in Japan? Could Japan be the Reason why XBOX One is so Restrictive and the PS4 and Wii U are not?

Just facts out there, No Fanboyism at all....

I'm done with next gen consoles having seeing the Xbox 1 reveal and not confident PS4 will be any better with regards to all this DRM shite. I thought I would never say this to myself, as I have bought every console known to date but this crap is way beyond belief and people are gonna fall for it.

I want a console to play games (who gives a shit about TV) Skype, etc. I have a decent Smart 3D TV and mobile devices that use Skype. However, this is a complete and utter joke - With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies.

That means if you have your internet connection cut, Moving, changing ISP's or it goes down for more than 24 hours, your console will be disabled for playing games, you will not be able to play the game you paid money for. UTTER TRASH.

Basically, dictatorship and Big brother watching you 24.7, controlling how they want you to use their product. I know this may sound like a rant but i'm annoyed on how the gaming industry is going and they way devices are locked down. I understand security measures but controlling on how you play is ridiculous and second hand gaming is a big thing for me. I have bought Saturn and Dreamcast titles recently and is that gonna happen in 10 years or more time with Microshaft, I don't think it will.

I used to look forward to the latest next gen hardware but this is disgusting. PC gaming and retro consoles all the way for me and sure some will agree.

    Peace out!

What difference does it make links or not? I'm stating my own opinion and what I read elsewhere. Sony is not to be trusted anyway, look at the PS3, removing features via firmware updates for a system you paid for. They can suck you in with all the BS now with promises it don't do this and that, yet what is to say further down the line, it all changes with firmware updates or whatever.

Someone ported a Xbox 360 game to PC, it was a recent story around the internet. Maybe, but, idk man. Why hasn't Xbox emulation, or rather why hasn't Xbox porting really shined yet?

Ofc with this shit storm Sony will be like 'no we are not going to have any of these crazy DRM limitations' (while in reality they are like F*$K we need scrap our planned for years DRM strategy). Let's just hope that eventually both parties will scrap certain annoying DRM features. That being said, I do like the idea of not having the insert a disc for playing a game!

If you ignore the fact Sony, at every launch of a new console, spout a bunch of lies about what the console can do - sure.

PS4 and XBOX ONE haven't even release yet

End of day, It just a video console. Calm down and I'm sure there are some awesome things to do in your life rather wasting time moaning about this.

As long PS4 can play PS4 games, that is the only thing it matters.

Cool t-shirt it looks like sony is captializing on the xbox hate. We'll probably see more of that at e3.

As for Xbox, do you think the casual gamers care about any of the DRM stuff? Thats a serious question. I'm talking about the moms who walk into Best Buy and buy the console so the kids can play Call of Duty. I think thats microsoft's audience right now and who they are going for. They are giving up the hardcore gaming crowd to sony and nintendo. Thats a terrible move on their part but they must see larger revenue from casuals who have no idea what DRM is.
