Just because a link on the internet says its true, doesn't mean it is. Have you never heard the phrase "don't believe everything you read"? What it actually says is "don't believe everything you read. Especially if Sony said it"

Its nothing to do with what you are saying, sure the links you posted said exactly what you said they would. But you are completely ignoring the fact Sony lied in all previous launchs and have taken many actions against customers in the past with no remorse.

They can say what ever the fuck they want, sensible people won't believe it until they see it. Even then, it will get done in an update later anyway

I don't know why everyone is coming to this conclusion. I suspect that this feature can be changed in the future with a firmware update. It would only make sense. I know some games were patched (like Quake 3) to disable the CD check after the game went out of support.

^^ Maybe the sudden and abrupt demise of xbox live support for the 1st gen xbox.

MS really couldn't have given a crap about xbox one users still wanting to go online, or some of the DLC that could only have been purchased online.

I don't get it either, like I've said many times: the verification will be cracked and you'll still be able to play the games.

I'm just gonna do the sensible option and see what's what after each console has been out six months...I thought I was in a safe haven for my console gaming with the xbox and xbox 360, to quote Francis "Microsoft you sons of bitches"

The reason DRM is accepted by Steam users is because of the rampant piracy that exists on the PC and how Steam has to circumvent that. Also on PC there are MMOs that require the login keys etc. All accepted and understood by the hardcore gamers who play endless hours on Starcraft.

Piracy on the 360 was present for those willing to open their consoles and flash the dvd drive but the vast majority purchased the games at a game store and had a physical copy. They would then take these physical copies to friends houses or whatever and play. Its obvious that the hardcore fanbase is fighting microsoft right now and the system hasn't even launched yet. The system of choice for Call of Duty is going to end up being Sony unless things change. I wouldn't be surprised if a 3rd party manufacturer makes a 360 controller for ps3 just to appease all the crossover fans who are converting to Sony over this.

Microsoft just paid $750,000 to Polygon to make a bad review for The last of Us (PS3 exclusive game)

...for which there's no real proof. This review score whining is almost like the whining about the Gamespot reviews for Double Dash and Twilight Princess (both of which totally deserved their relatively "low" scores)

If you review a game and hate something that everyone else likes, then people say you are bought by the competition. If you love something that someone else hates, then you are paid by the developer. People want reviewers to be individuals, and yet if you go outside the norm, they want you dead and say you shouldn't review that genre or game. There is no winning.

alot of corporate reviews are "tainted" in more ways than one.

    1. people are reviewing games for a living. its their job.
    2. people are reviewing games on behalf of a group or company
    3. people are reviewing games that they do not enjoy, or are them selves not gamers or from a gaming background.

just 3 points to consider when taking corporate reviews into account.

User got banned on Polygon site due to that he exposed information on thread what has been going on.

It not surprise this isn't the first time Microsoft has done this. Only logical reason obvious Microsoft is in desperation mode, cause it knows it cannot compete in the gaming sector with this generation. (That my point of view)

Here the video If you haven't seen it

Proof or no proof, you decide.

Had the same thought myself and the fact people have their own opinions, yet spit their dummy out if they don't like what they hear and then threaten they are leaving. GROW UP!

The idea that we'll have to mod consoles to play games that aren't even imports is both amusing and depressing.

The first time many heard of Polygon was thanks to their 75% review of Last of Us. So it's moot really either way.

Anyway I'm not so sure this new Xbox can be cracked. If Blizzard and EA have proven anything is that server-side DRM is getting harder to circumvent.
