but seriously the ryanhayes article is a huge pile of whale excrement, to the point of thinking he's either a 12 year old deluded fanboy with a low IQ or a MS employee / rep.

didnt bother reading the other one.

The reddit one's actually less painful (i.e. more intelligent) to read. Somehow. But yes, it's still fucking terrible.

At least with reddit, I could pull this gem out:
"The problem isn't, as you stated, that lots of misinformation is flying around. MS is saying that because they want to spin the policies. What they really mean is that they haven't figured out the best way to present the information in a way that minimizes the anti-consumer angle and maximizes the fun & features angles. That's because there isn't a way to hide how anti-consumer these policies are, and that's why there's so much anger."

I just heard from a friend from LATAM that the xbone wont work over there because his country is not "officially supported" which is no surprise at all given that years ago he told me anyone getting a RROD over there was shit outta luck since MS wouldnt recognize the warranty at all

Also great news for me: now I wont be able to bring my xbone when I travel there

Hey ballmer I just found a solution: not getting your stupid fucking console

If anyone does want to take XBOX One Complaints Straight to to the top....
    http://consumerist.com/2007/06/05/contact-microsoft-ceo-steve-ballmer/

Couldn't hurt. I was going to write him but I would hope he has enough sense to realize the ship is sinking and demand changes be made.
But if anyone else wishes to air their grievances feel free to do so. taking Complaints to the top usually works.

There is no misinformation floating around (now). Everything in those two articles are EXACTLY what people are pissed off about. Microsoft, at the large publishers' request, are completely violating the first sale doctrine (at least in the US; equivalent consumer protection laws apply elsewhere). Microsoft has ZERO say in who, where and how much I sell or trade my games for. And before you say that Microsoft doesn't have any say in the prices, by mere virtue of limiting the process to "authorized" retailers, it will create an amount of price-fixing. Developers do NOT deserve income from secondhand sales; no one does except for the seller. The game industry is no different than any other one, even though it seems that some in it think they are better than everyone else.

Microsoft would have to do a hell of a lot for me to even think about coming back to their platform, as a gamer or developer.

I'm just going to say this: Microsoft canceled E3 post press conference roundtable with journalists 1 week before the Event.

It was already a PR mess. It just got bigger. Still, they'll sell millions of those things. Most people don't give a f***.

I find it hilarious itchy mentioning "misinformation" when all this is happening because of the lack of true information by Microsoft.

Misinformation or Disinformation? Call whatever you want, Microsoft started this bullshit, don't blame the internet for making jokes about it.

PS: "The Power Of The Cloud" is the latest meme.

I don't care, i've alreado pre-ordered my Xbox One, and i'm happy with all features Microsoft is offering.

But for you, here's a video where Don mattrick apologizes for the xbox one being a "failure" and not meeting to their customers standards.

Isn't their shared games policy essentially just licenced piracy? What's the difference between me buying a PS4 game, copying the disc and sharing it with a friend, and me buying an XBO disc, dumping it to the HDD and sharing it over the cloud? Obviously I know the difference, one requires a modded system, one runs with no restrictions and one is without the permission of the publishers, but can Microsoft really use this "feature" to justify all the restrictions placed on their console? The jump from disc based media to digital DRM is obvious so this is to be expected, but it seems kind of shady all the same.
