It's absolutely interesting because the console market is an oligopoly of only 3 competitors, out of which only 2 are competing directly with substitutable products. Microsoft pays money to Sony, but not vice versa. That's why it's funny.

There's some cool games coming out for the Xbox One that's why I want one. I like shooting things and giant robots. It's gonna have Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Titanfall. They all look worth buying to me. I also watch live sporting events and play fantasy football. That all seems cool, too.

That's cool... I guess. If only the DualShock thumb sticks were in different locations. It's a really uncomfortable controller and I'd rather use an Xbox controller.

All of the issues most have with the Xbox One aren't really a big deal to me. Everyone's talking about the DRM and 24-hour check-in, my 360 has been connected to the internet since I bought it. No lending games? I don't have friends in real life, so that's whatever.

Let's all just be chill and play games on whatever system we want. Why is everyone being so dramatic? Have a drink, smoke some weed, and chill.......

 

This is meant with no offense, but it is because people like you will still buy the system and can effectively screw us all over in the end. If there are enough people like you who buy it, it will become the norm to impose more restrictions and worse "sanctions" against gamers. It will all be done under the guise of "it sold well, so obviously people like it and want more", even though it is because people didn't care one way or another. The apathetic will be more damaging than the fanboy shills in this "conflict".

 

I'm not buying one because of all the DRM shit plus I worry about playing XboxOne games in 15 years time. I love my 360 too but no way am I buying the One.

I totally get what you're saying, and I totally admit that I am apathetic. I'm not a developer, I'm not into preservation, I'm barely a collector anymore, I'm not affiliated with the industry in any way. Video games are purely entertainment, and strictly a hobby. I may not be able to play Xbox One games in 15 years, but if there's enough games I want to play for a system, I'll buy it, buy the games, and get my money's worth. I know that with every digital game I buy, that I may not be able to play at some point in the future. But that's fine, I know that going into the purchase.

I'm going to end up owning them all anyways, I just enjoy playing good games on whatever console. It just seems really "cool" to hate the Xbox One. And I'll admit I'm a total hipster and don't like anything that's "cool".

 

I won't be buying one because most probably it won't even work in Uruguay at all. Rumor has it it will not work on non-official markets, and given how much time Microsoft takes to make launches official here, it will be quite a while (the original XBOX became 'official' here in 2005... and the Xbox 360 is not even close of becoming officially supported).

That, and the 24hs online check pisses me off, what if my internet connection is down for some reason u_u
