From a games prospective, it was a little underwhelming, more Forza, more FIFA, more COD... Nice to see Spielberg, thoughts they would start merging games and movies but no. Nice to see Kojima, but no announcement :( I'm quite curious to see how they intend to control the various devices I have in my living room like my cable box, audio amp and stuff, it seems all integrated but where do I plug them to the box so it can take control? I like the responsiveness of the box, I don't use Skype anymore, only Facetime x)

The hardware is absolutely massive and it's basically a box, this looks more the part to me:

I need to see more games, Sony had more to show... E3 will probably set my mind on a next gen console, if any, I'm only getting one this time. Wii U almost ruled out, if Nintendo can get its act together, maybe. They didn't go into much details about how they use the Cloud but great reference for Microsoft to sell more Azure and Hyper V, I trust when they say 15,000 servers they meant virtualised ;)

I enjoyed the presentation but it was not enough about games, not enough technical details on the platform either... let's wait and see...

Forza is an awesome game. You called it shovelware, but shovelware is the games that get releases yearly with minute changes.

Seems I pretty much didn't miss anything. No surprises, no important news on new games. Nothing.

    Forza Motorsport (2005)
    Forza Motorsport 2 (2007)
    Forza Motorsport 3 (2009)
    Forza Motorsport 4 (2011)
    Forza Horizon (2012)
    Forza Motorsport 5 (2013)

Its turned into a yearly franchise ;)

Sure it still does a lot more than COD but I still regard it as the COD of racing games, not that that is bad thing, its still probably the best racing sim out there.

Sorry if you find it offensive.

And that more or less confirms that you MUST have a internet connection to atleast install a game for the first time.

There going to loose a lot of sales here, if thats the case :p

When they were showing the exploded views, they had specs on the side. It wasn't a whole lot of time to see all that was there, but I did notice it said "HDMI In/Out" ... for whatever that is worth.

HDMI In is for the cable / satellite box (Live TV) to be controlled by the console (just like GoogleTV devices). Then the HDMI Out for the TV.

it basically is, with a megadrive strapped into it. lol

anyway. yeah i have to agree the Forza games are pretty good, although i've not played horizon yet just 1-4 and none of them are bad, all quite good racing games.

COD games however have become ... ass bad. maybe this one will be better but it looks like they've just picked some gimmicks from other shooters (3rd and 1st person) and thrown them in to try and claim-back a more mature and robust audience.

i normally like to reserve judgment and look at the positives.. but... erm... didnt see any.

Interesting, based on their presentation you'd just need to feed the tv signal to the box so one HDMI would be sufficient if you use an external box for sat or cable. I wonder about integrated Freeview receivers in the UK, could HDMI from the TV send the signal to the XBox on the same cable used to send Xbox signal to the TV?

    EDIT: HDMI Pass-through...

It also means XBOX Live must be up 100% of the time as well (which isn't possible). I remember PSN was down for a while and I couldn't even play certain single player games (Heavy Rain, FFXIII, etc) because they had to "phone home".
