Yikes! Big brother is watching you. If you like to drink Pepsi while you watch TV, expect a few cola ads in the interface.

A lot of TV service providers provide live streaming over the Internet for some content (ESPN, HBO, etc.). I'm sure Xbox One can aggregate those feeds as well.

This thing is going to have some SERIOUS sticker shock. It's best to keep the price down however they can. HDD size won't affect gameplay, and who knows? It might even be upgradable, or at the very least, they can offer 2 SKUs (regular and 1TB "ultimate edition"). They are learning from cell phone manufacturers...

why not a 1TB or more? 2 reasons spring to mind, 1. Cost. 2. Future sales of either hard drive expansion / upgrade or newer console revisions with upgraded hard drives.

 

Maybe it will bee like Wii-U and support external USB drives.

 

Not really. If anything, that list shows Forza is simply a bi-yearly franchise. Forza Horizon was really more of a one-time spinoff, it was made by a completely different team while the actual Forza developers were busy making the next-gen Forza Motorsport 5.

It would only be a yearly franchise if they do this:

I dont get why people are freaking out over not many games being shown. E3 is 3 weeks away.

Heck, if you take away multiplatform PS3/PS4 games like Watchdogs, Sony didnt show that many either.

What I though was funny is that Sony SUPER HYPED being able to record and share your gameplay. That same feature was just a bulletpoint for Microsoft.

 

The jokes about the name is everywhere. Reminds me of the Wii - WiiU situation.

Most people call the original Xbox as Xbox 1. Confusion from all sides, for hardcore and casual gamers.

I think the most exciting thing about this was the Halo TV show, at the very least it can't be worse than the terrible show Terra Nova Spielberg was also involved with.

 

i didnt think terra nova was that bad, certainly not in concept, but it could have used a shed load more money thrown into it. TV needs more Sci Fi and yes im saying Sci Fi and not si fi. *mumbles incoherently about hipsters and kids these days*

It was a horrible concept due to the fact that they didn't bother with the whole "modifying the past will fuck up the present" aspect.

If you ignore that giant plot hole it wasn't too bad.

I just spec'd out a comparable (same specs, AMD stuff, BD drive, etc) Mini-ITX computer with Windows 8 Embedded and the "cost" would be just over $500. Considering the differences between manufacturing a computer and a specialized device such as a video game console (for example while AMD's 8 core CPUs are in their server line, MS could get a significant cost savings of maybe only costing $50 per CPU) could retail for maybe $500-600. Still is quite a bit but then again MS could end up selling it for an initial loss and make up the money elsewhere. I had heard that MS took a loss on the first Xbox...

EDIT: I wanted to add that maybe using the Windows 8 Embedded wouldn't count, since I doubt MS would count the OS cost into their build... since its "Free" for them lol. So say the final spec "cost" would be $400, and the sale price could be $400-500 instead.

OR you could have a code to install to the hard drive and run games from the disc. Two licenses essentially one installed for convenience one with the disc. You want to install the disc to the hard drive then you pay for the second hand license. Of course it won't work this way though.

Also, they choosed a bad name.
