Xbox Powering up only by using eject button?

You could always ditch the memory card idea all together and hotswap the HDD to a PC with an IDE port...
That's how I modded my last Xbox because I didn't have one of the exploitable games handy.

I borrowed Cruzer Flash drive off a friend, and I formatted it to FATX.

I can see partition zero, but when I try to drag and drop the two folders in it, nothing happens...

Every step of this mod is going to be a challenge it seems.

Any ideas why I cant inject the two folders to partition zero?

I am using windows 7.

They are hit and miss, plus I don't even know if xbhdm supports sata

better idea to use a pci based ide adaptor

However, the xbox still displays the memory as damaged when flash stick is inserted into the controller.

Format the usb in the xbox then start again in windows

in fatx tool does it say your MC is supported? I couldn't get my 8gb usb to work I ended up usin a old 2 gb cruiser

I have managed to copy the game save file onto the console, using some old photo camera memory card!

I have managed to complete the mod.

One last question, I think I should have gone with UnleashX instead of EvoX dash, do I follow the same modding process, and then just choose unleashX to get it installed?

Different issue though...

I think I have just bricked another Xbox, this would be my second one, I already bricked one before...

Basically what I did was, tried to install Unleash X on my second Xbox, it said that it could not continue because a soft-mod has already been done, but I didn't even know this, as it always used to boot into default MS dash.

It then made sense to me to uninstall the old soft-mod, and then reinstall with UnleashX.

Now the xbox will not boot into dash at all, it displays error 13, but it boots into the game fine when disc is inserted....

Have I stuffed up the Xbox, or can I save it?

When I go to:

Install Dual Boot Softmod
Hacked Dash/MS Dash
Virtual C + EEprom for HD
Install Unleash X Dashboard

I get prompted with a message " This will format your C drive and install soft-mod and dashboard, are you ready to proceed"

"Installer is now checking to see if you have a valid EEprom and MS back up"

Then I get an error saying:

"Batch Process Failed. The last time was E:\backup\MS is not present. Action: Rename"

I did try to to MS back up before doing the mod, and it was still showing the error.


Can someone please help me with this, I dont like to make another thread about this. I think MS back up is missing, so this is the reason the error is coming up?

Can I copy MS back up from my other xbox? Would this work?

Would a program called Hexen help?

You are TSOP right?? If you are you don't need to use a softmod installer, boot hexen up and install a dash.

Yes, its TSOP.

I am downloading hexen now....

The problem is, its an iso right, this console will not boot iso's.

It boots to error 13, but it will boot into Splinter Cell fine, and I can access the Intaller Deluxe Menu from you tutorial trough the Splinter Cell game.

Can I still run hexen?

Can I extract files from hexen iso, then use file manager from Installer Deluxe, to copy it over from memory unit to internal HDD?

I just managed to run hexen via softmod installer delux.
Once hexen downloads, extract the files and place them under 21585554/0000000/files/hexen using the xplorer360 software from my tutorial.

Once softmod installer delux loads up go to "file manager" E:\UDATA\21585554\000000\files\hexen and load "Root.xbe" it will take a few minutes to load hexen, once there proceed with my other tutorial on upgrading TSOP hdd.

FFS is there an end to this.....

When I try to inject hexen Applications folder, Explorer crashes every time...

I used magic iso to extrac the iso files.

Any other injecting program I can use?

Maybe the iso file was corrupt, can you please send me the link. I grabbed the one from iso zone, it was over 1 GB in size.

How big is your copy of hexen??

What OS are you using? Try compatibility mode Windows XP

there should be a .Dll file or SYS file that goes with explorer

 

Size of hexen is over 1 GB.

Using Windows 7, I just tried XP compatibility and still crashes.

Yes, the Xplorer DLL file is there.

I am not sure why it crashes with hexen, I mean it injects the two folders from you tutorial fine.

My copy of hexen that I use is only 400mb or so..
I'll upload my copy to mega.co.nz and pop the link up here
If that doesn't work then I'll upload the exact files from my memory unit..

you can always try to FTP to the xbox while loaded into SID, just be sure to start FTP server on the xbox (under steering iirc)

Ok...

I realized a made a mistake a few posts above, this Xbox does not have a mod chip.

I have managed to transfer hexen to xbox.

Did everything as per your video tutorial.

Still the console only boots with splinter cell, but not without it. It displays error 13.

I think MS dash is stuffed, that's why this is happening.
