Seems to be that kind of kit, yes.
Comes with a 310-page book (the assembler versions) explaining the hardware.

It seems to have been sold around 10.000 yens in 1996, only via mail order, and it was only advertised in the magazine PCengineFAN...
Could have been a reaction to the PC-FXGA card that was sold in 1995 for the PC-FX
Seems there were some articles in the last issues of PCengineFAN explaining the develobox...
The develobox could be connected to a PC-98 (japanese PC) via printer & RS232-cable, and apparantly you could also connect it to a MSX.
Later, another book was published, in BASIC.
When PCengineFAN died, some articles about the DEVELObox were published in "DEVELO MAGAZINE", which also talked about SaturnBasic & FXGA.

    Info taken from:
    http://www2s.biglobe.ne.jp/~tetuya/FXHP/pcengine/hard/deveb.html

You can see the "BASIC" book here:

Develo is a consumper product -- it's technically not "Dev" hardware.

You can always count me in if there is a need to defend an innocent guy being lapidated. Fortunately, there was a fair moderator (in fact, admin) who stopped this mess..the debate about getting for free what other paid/made financial sacrifices for is an eternal debate.
And by the way, tomaitheous was really rude with assembler forums ^^

    In what context,precisely?
Do you know anything of his life, and what is a financial effort for someone, and not for another one?

Financial sacrifice for entertainment, and in this case video games. I don't know who you're talking about, I'm not really interested in knowing either; I wasn't attacking anyone though.

Your Frenglish always reads like some type of beatnik poetry, which is also funny. I'm sure you're a swell guy and I and meant and still mean mean no disrespect.

The only point I think Adol was trying to make is that a lot of times people EXPECT something for free once you paid $$$ for it. There's a reason people don't want to "give away" things they pay that much for. If people feel like doing that for free and have money to burn, that's a different story...

He should never really post on PCEngineFX.com because some of the parties that post are VERY unfriendly and have a really ridiculous idea of what you are supposed to do with YOUR Turbo Grafx items. You can't decide that YOUR prices for one of a kind stuff should be THE prices for it and not expect there to be someone else who would want it more, and that's what I gathered from that topic. A lot of posters are notorious for being "rude" price police. Not everyone is like that on there but there are some, and the "we are a community" excuse does not fly all the time for things such as this.

Well, if it was me, I'd probably resell it, for a symbolic price like 10 bucks or so, just to get some kind of aknowlegdement of my "hard work," and serious cash I threw at the purchase.

Waht I would do, as I still think it's important to share with the community, just my 2cent;-)

You're so right, people can't expect him to give away free ISOS of the game. I would gladly, as I worte in the above post, sell 'em cheap, just to have people aknowlege the fact, that I paid alot for it. But one can NEVER expect it, so there we totally agree.

that's a very social line of thought , but what will happen:

someone who bought it for cheap will release it for free :banghead:

Maybe you're right I don't know, the issue hasn't occured yet, as I'm more of a hardware collector, than software collector:p

But one could hope, that the person who buys the ridicously cheap backup, would have enough moral, to refer another forum member to me, for a backup:nod:

I'm also aware that pigs don't fly either, but hey, who knows, maybe one day they will?

    alphagamer:

A bit off topic, to say the least. The console in your avatar, is that a Saturn? As I haven't seen that particular version anywhere? Could you tell me a bit about it?

Sorry if these are dumb questions, just haven't done that much research in gaming history, apart from my beloved DC;-)

    Thanks in advance;-)
