Conker's Bad Fur Day is amazing for the N64, it makes me wonder what Dinosaur Planet would have played like.. SA2 was jaw-dropping at the time- so much detail and a constant, slick framerate. It was so much better than SA1, although the gameplay of Knuckles ticks me off now.
SA2 (Sonic) gameplay + Rage engine = EPIC GAME And nobody I know liked the knuckles/rouge levels, and the tails/eggman ones were tolerable at best, fun sometimes. Yeah the music was awesome, really catchy, but the lyrics, well thats what you get with an E rating... The crappy rap in some of knuckles levels make will smith's fresh prince tunes sound hardcore:lol: I didnt notice any framerate differences between DC and GC version, but I did observe some level modifications and extra texture detail (most smooth).
most will disagree but I think Doom still looks and plays well. A good simple 2dish FPS that's fun and satisfying as hell even now.
FPSes have gotten too complex. FPS makers need to look back at Doom and the Original Wolfenstien 3d and re-evaluate how an FPS is done.
No, you're an idiot: you make unnecesary dumb comments when the situation don't call for it, completely destroying any respect you may have gathered on other posts. Just try to think twice before posting, dont make a comment that you know is going to create a stir among most users here (ie: your costant "sony sucks/is doomed" comments).
we were at talking about old games dated with glory, and you giving Shadowlayers annual deserved telling.
Duke Nukem 3D still looks good, mostly because colors already looked a little washed-up back then, and the fact games are getting more monochromatic lately, for the sake of "realism";-) Another series of games that havent aged well are MS's Flight Simulators: mid 90s editions just look awful. Thanks for proving my point. Speaking of the king...
The main problem with the N64 is that a lot of games are using the systems lowest resolution 256 × 224 and games which support higher resolutions often have a very slow framerate. Too slow for todays standards.
Surprisingly though Conker's BFD was a decent resolution and didn't require the expansion pack. That's what amazed me about the game. How well it looked AND sounded (sound was superb, IMO for an N64 game) all on 4MB of RAM. Whereas, Perfect Dark, grant it being more complex and just as good, required the extra RAM for single player play. And if you enabled the high-resolution, the frames dropped and action was too slow. Shit, I miss my n64.
The N64 is a real Odd ball to me. But Alot of the games do still look good. F Zero X still holds up. And Killer Instink Gold. And I was just saying that about PS3 owners.........you were just askin for it.
Hellz Yeah! You said it. I think Yoshi's Island had some great graphics for the SNES. Wonderful sprites and animations! :020:
Vortex may be ancient by today's standards but I was shocked that the SNES was getting near Playstation quality graphically
I can't wait to play Duke Nukem 3d on XBLA for the 9450496 time, and then get all the points in it and be awesome. Gracianno will be so jealous! rofl...I typed Duken Nukem and had to fix it. I better go hide now.
