There's a moment I was playing Sonic 2006 where you run down a hill then slide onto the water and kind of drift which is suppose to be a scripted scene for the most part, but the Whale which is part of the BG at first can actually hit you and kill you despite it being a scripted scene and it not being a enemy nor a hazard at that point and carry you off.

-Dropping my Gameboy when I was younger with Pokemon Red... lost my amazing game save and the cartridge never kept a save for more than a few minutes after the system was turned off after that. At the time I was heartbroken, lol.

-Playing through FF7 on PSP, turned off PSP immediately after saving (game said it was done saving...), later go to play, save is gone. I probably turned it off too soon seeing as the game is an emulated PS1 game on the PSP and it wasn't written to the memory card. Now I wait longer before turning off a system.

Not necessarily frustrating but odd... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TElGTQwiln8 Read the description to know further information. I can say it made my friend and I confused...

Thats what I always do. After saving I wait like 3 seconds before I turn it off. Done that since I started playing games when I was 3-4 with a Game Boy and Mario.

Sounds similar to this skyrim glitch this guy had. The same guy made the Nintoaster iirc.

There used to be some good bugs on COD5 World at War Zombies where you could hide in the wall and they couldnt come near you

I've never had any "bad" bug experiences, but I have had quite a few ANNOYING ones. For example, there are two avoidable, yet potentially game breaking glitches in Army Men Sarges Heroes for the N64 that I used to run into occasionally. One of them is, when you are near a wall, zoom out to the max zoom level, then run away from the wall, then when the camera is at just the right distance from you (which I can't you exactly TBH) press the zoom button again to go back to the closest zoom. For some reason this causes the camera to zoom in to far, which causes it to shake violently before twisting in on itself, making the environment except for the skybox invisible, and softlocking the game. Oddly, the audio still runs unaffected, but the graphics and control input are fucked. And then there's the mine detector... oh god, that thing is a ticking time bomb. If you have it in your inventory and you scroll past it too many times, the game will completely freeze (audio included) when you try to fire your guns or restart the level/continue the game if you've beaten the level. There are a lot of other smaller bugs in this game (no hit detection on walls when not looking at them, retarded AI that just runs in one direction infinitely or doesn't move at all, boxes that get you stuck inside of them when you climb on them sometimes, being able to float in the air after completing a multiplayer match, etc.), but those are the two major ones.

My most recent one was playing Apotheon on PS4. There's a lot of insane praise for that game that I don't think it deserves. Now, perhaps doesn't crash five times a day (not an exaggeration, and that's actually only playing for a few hours) on PC, and the super-twitchy controls would probably be a lot better with a mouse, but the way the dev goes off on people who think it's too twitchy (it is) is ridiculous. He thinks people want it to be Street Fighter or something. Way to not take criticism.

Anyway, the game is so flawed that even after a patch, there are still a lot of problems with it. There are weird glitches that lock the difficult mode to the highest level if you're not careful when saving/loading (it should be said that when on the highest difficulty, you can't lower it, but my point is that trying to load a save on a lower difficulty often doesn't work - it raises the difficulty, making it nigh impossible). The game crashes so often - it's really unacceptable. There are broken games, and then there's Apotheon. The concept of the game is great. The sound and art design is generally excellent. And the rest of it is a complete mess that the dev won't admit to - if you're not singing his praises, you're a douchebag and your opinion is wrong, basically.

In 2007, I was once clearing one of the final stages of the story mode of Arcana Heart with Fiona. And I somehow managed to trigger the one and only glitch in this game that involves one of her special moves, forcing me to reset the whole PlayStation 2 without saving. :(

I was quite a weak player, so having to lose my progress after managing to get that far was quite devastating for me.

Tomb Raider Underworld (No suprise there)

I got some bizarre glitch where if you activate one thing, then get on the bike and go to another part without finishing it glitches this puzzle in the NEXT level. It's compounded by the fact that you can't just restart a whole level since there is an autosave that always tracks your progress. After copious amount of googling I got it figured out and thankfully was able to use a manual save.

The worst bug... I don't know. The most annoying was Sonic Adventure 2 the floor in Cannon's Core the floor lacked collision detection so Dr. Robotnik just kept falling to his doom. So I never finished the game. I don't know of it was a common thing, or it was the system. It wasn't my game or system so I never bothered finding out.

One of the most f*$# bug i had to live was in Mystic Quest on GameBoy.
At the beginnig of the game, i can't remember exactly, maybe a few hours, you have to gather many keys, and use them to open doors (obviously).
But if you don't use the keys in the right order (i mean, going the right way first), you won't be albe do go any further. Just have to resatrt the game again.
The worst is not to discover this bug. The worst is to search around the missing key for many MANY many hours, wondering where i could forget or miss something.

Fallout 3 on PS3. That game was the buggiest game I have ever played. Well, auto save was turned off to avoid crashes and I sporadically saved. Well, finished the quest where you find , but soon after, he vanished from the game and I could not advance.

Not necessarily a bug but a really annoying feature, but the sidestep jump you can do in Turok: Dinosaur Hunter thrusting me off the edge of a level. For a while I used the left-handed setup for the game where the d-pad moves Tal' Set and my controller is either very worn out or the N64 d-pad is insanely finicky and when I try to quickly sidestep from enemy projectiles I just fly off the level.

Oh man, I have a few good memories of some awful bugs. I'll start with this one:

Doom V1.1, I was maybe 7 or 8 at the time, and we just got to play this game for the first time. The whole concept of this game was a new thing pretty much to anyone let alone a young kid, and I got stuck on E1M2 for a very long time. No matter how hard I tried I could not find the exit to the level, I saw something that looked sort of like it might be the exit. I could jump down, but the was this switch taunting me I couldn't quite fit. And after jumping down you couldn't escape the "pit". No matter what I could not find a way to get to it, explored every nook and cranny. Hit the use key on every wall, killed everything, collected everything, but I just could not find an exit.

Days had passed, and this level still taunted me. After a lot of frustration, I finally started over and magically the elevator near the exit button went down all the way. It wasn't until many years later once we attained internet access that I learned V1.1 specifically had a game breaking bug, that could break doors/elevators if saved at the wrong moment. Just so happened the exit elevator must have been triggered, and got stuck half-way open just enough where I couldn't squeeze through, nor escape after jumping down. Great way to start off with one of the most important games of the era.

Paper Mario Thousand Year Door - super close to end of game and a dialogue event wouldn't trigger even though conditions were met. I think it was right before leaving for the Moon Base level / area. Never got to the moon.
I bought a PS3 recently to play MGS 5 (and Star Ocean 5 JPN when it comes out!!) and here's probably the worst glitch I've seen yet on the system. I encountered this missing asset upon booting the Day 1 version for the first time:
(sorry for the ghetto "film-the-screen-with-phone" quality)

I was playing Gta SA on my device when I was on the "farewell my love" mission. Its the worst mission in the game when suddenly I exited from the app from anger. When I opened it again all the racers were gone and I was happy since I can already finish it easily...UNTIL I made it to the finish line then the game crashed. I was really pissed off when this happened since I just want to finish the mission. The second one was the one from STALKER: SOC when after finishing X16 labs, I left Yantar with a small amount of radiation that I didn't even know I had. What happened is that when I did notice it already on the other map. It wouldn't be removed by antirads. And since the game was UNpatched, it really pissed me off. To make matters worse, the last save was miles behind so I had to do it all over again.
