It's true, Majora's Mask freezes (though Ocarina of Time works fine). I was lucky and got a freeze after playing for only about 10 minutes, so I knew not to waste any more time on it. My worst bug experience was in "Prince of Persia" for Gamecube. Turns out that if you save when Farah is too far away from you, she'll be "lost" when you load again, and you die instantly and there's no way to recover except loading from an earlier save. I had to start all over after getting about 75% through :banghead:
True crime: new york city on the xbox: God damn tommy. I pushed him around for 30 minutes until he finally fell down that freaking crate. 007 Goldeneye on the n64: The game freezing after the cartridge's contact gets fucked up and the enemies start flipping out in all directions. the first time I saw that, I shat bricks. Edit: The 2003 robocop game on the pc, at the third mission: the developers forgot to put a keycard in a part of the level, effectively making it impossible to complete it. but then, that game was from titus, so I'm not surprised.
The 2003 Robocop pc game, is the worst game I have ever played. It still gives me the shivers , when I think of it. How on Earth can you fuck up such a franchise to complete shite ? I swear, I could make a better Robocop FPS game with the "Doomsday" Doom engine, and a mate of mine doing the levels, and I cutting in and out the soundbits from the three movies, basically the two first would be the best. if you prefer the original movie actor. Who played Robocop. And then I would of course find many different musical versions of the Robocop theme. Just to make it sound like something official. Damn that 2003 Robocop game sucks.
Surely "Big rigs" on PC holds the title for most amount of game breaking bugs? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMnMOEB1zmE&NR=1
Probably the worst I've encountered was when my original NES started developing issues due to dirty cart connectors. At the time, I had no idea what was causing the issue nor was I aware that a cleaning kit would rectify the problem. I'd get slightly scrambled graphics after a few hours of play, which progressively got worse. Not a fun thing to behold on games that you had to beat in one sitting (and or lacked save states) like Milon's Secret Castle. Eventually the system would just lock up or reset. Imagine my surprise after I spent the $10 on the official cleaning kit and gave my connectors a proper scrubbing. It was like a brand new console.
The most recent bugs i've encountered are: Gta4 Xbox 360: i was on a superbike just dicking about :110: and i had a full speed impact with a bus....went airbourne (minus the bike) and landed between a bridge and a building but instead of dieing a fell through the floor and out of the game world and just kept falling and falling till the game crashed lol. Tomb raider underworld:i was playing the level where your in a inca city(i think) and i had to swing using the grappler...i unhooked the grappler to land but just went through the wall into a hidden room with no doors windows or anyway to even just kill myself to get out...i havent played it since and one of the most annoying bugs was with super metroid, at the final fight with mother brain the metroid did the animation to make samus super strong but nothing happened...no super strength no health nothing...probly a bugged cartridge.
I understand that Tomb Raider: Underworld for the Wii shares the title with Sonic 2006 as 'really buggy high-profile games'. On a side note, I found that Fantavision (PS2) has a tremendous bug in it where if you select the fireworks but don't blow them up, the game freezes after about 15 seconds.
Yep, I add myself to the long list of people who simply gave up on "Tomb Raider: Underworld". I posted a bit about it when it came out, plus a video demonstrating the issues I encountered. Worst title I've ever played. Seems that they must have used rather a poor debugging team, cut corners and rushed the release. Surprise, surprise!
Link pls.....oh and i did venture back to underworld just to get sucked into the beyond ,i fell through the game world into the blue void of nothingness rofl...they should patch it through the xboxllive marketplace cos i really wanna finish it
I was playing the fluff festival mission in Super Mario Sunshine and I grabbed onto one of the pieces of fluff and then started sliding down to get back to the ground and I slid right through the ground and died in this strange blue place beneath the level
I dont know if its been fixed via patch, but back when Gears of War first came out there was an annoying bug on the Fuel Depot multiplayer map. Sometimes when climbing up the ledge from the middle section of the map ( where the hammer of dawn normally is located ), your guy would climb through the wall, falling through the map in the process, which caused on of 2 thing to happen. 1: You would die. 2: You would not die, and you could look up to see all the actiion happening on the map above you, but try as you might you can not shoot anyone. If your team doesnt win the round, your stuck sitting there waiting for the round timer to expire while the other team goes " WTF is he at?!?!?!" An annoying glitch at the very least.
I knew a guy who would do it on purpose all the time. My biggest bug would be between two different occasions: 1. In Crackdown for the Xbox 360 there was a conveyor belt that ran on the upper part of a wall, on an island occupied by one of the bosses (I don't remember the name obviously). I got knocked down onto the belt and the belt carried me into a wall. I was stuck there when I got back up. The best part was I could shoot out, but not get shot back at...until I ran out of ammo and had to restart my system. 2. In The Elder Scrolls Oblivion for the Xbox 360, the first fighters guild quest where you have to watch for the woman to put the meat for the lions (that attack the rats in the basement). The woman would never appear and the map said she was in the middle of nowhere in the main map. I had to restart my game after doing everything else just to beat the fighters guild.
Gears of War 2: Get to the later part of the game where you have to shoot down reavers and there isn't a reticule so you just get to aim and hope you figure it out. After about 25 tries the game glitches and I just proceed through to the next part of the area. Sweet.
Hmmm, accidental mana burn damage, on the Magic The Gathering 4th Edition PC game, and tons of other bugs while trying to play online with the Mana Link expansion which led to winning or losing without sense at all.
I had the same thing happen, she was actually moving away from the city. So I fasttravel to an Inn just infront of her and wait to see what the deal is. Turns out shes being chased by a wolf. Anyway, my worst experience isnt a single bug, but the threat of a bug that was everpresent in Morrowind on the Xbox. I swear I save about every minutes 5 because you never know when it was going to freeze.
Bomberman Ultra Bomberman Ultra for PS3 is a recent example. The game freezes often in online battles. When this happens even the hypervisor crashes (the PS button does not respond anymore).
