Uppercutting opponents up towards the roof from the temple in the Genesis version of Mortal Kombat 3 often lead to to a lockup with a blue screen containing what appeared to be hex code. There was no Game Genie code attached, so that was pretty strange. It should be noted that this mostly happened on the Genesis 3 and not II.
worst bug for me, took my memory card carrying my Halo 2 save from my xbox at my house to my dads house, copied the save over. The xbox instantly BSOD'd(not literally)...dead xbox. its funny years later at that point tho I was irate.
I got an annoying bug the first time I played Shadows of the Damned on the 360. In the first town you enter a house for the first time and head on upstairs. The darkness arrives which results in the demons outside jumping through the upstairs window to attack you. The problem is that on my first play the demons just stayed at the front door making it impossible to kill them which in turn stopped my progress through the game. I couldn't leave the house at all. In the end I had to reset the game and start again. Good thing this was at the beginning. Yakumo
After unlocking Ness in Super Smash Bros on N64 I switched games and went to play SSB again a few days later but the game didn't start up, so I blew into the cartridge, turned it on, and it worked but all of the stats and unlockables were gone... I think it has happened at least one other time since then. From wikipedia: k0baltic, that must've sucked. Great job in the end, though... Gore is fantastic
I really liked a game called Cosmic Pirate for the Atari ST. I played it for weeks and each level was a letter, as I approached level 26 "Z" i was getting very excited. Anyway I completed that and was presented with level corrupt character, then another corrupt character after that level. I realised with sadness that the developer had never intended anyone to keep playing, so it wasn't really a bug so much as they didn't bother to put a 'well done' message anywhere in the game.
God of War 3, the scorpion battle is bugged as hell. Had to fight it over and over again for some kind of bug that gave me problems while I was playing at chaos mode.
Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Death Egg Zone. Spin dashing right off into the hole in the ground that doesn't exist in the 3 part boss. Loosing all rings in the process therefor making it 10 times harder.
I got a classic glitch last night when I was going through Deus EX on the 360 for the second time just to see if I could access or find anything odd. Well, I sure did find something odd. When I went to the whore house in the Chinese city I found myself talking to a pair of boobs!!!! I did all the missions the boobs asked me to do :smile-new: yet they never did change in to the woman. In the end I shot them just to see what would happen. By magic the woman appeared but she was half missing. Where could her lower body have gone to? Ah, there it is on the next floor down. Pure class!!! I also got Mass Effect 3 to do a floor drop glitch. It would only happen after the bottle shooting scene in the with Garris (or however you spell his name). You start the game in the docking bay where that strange four legged alien thing just walks from one computer point to another. Well he ends up just vanishing when he reaches the computer point. If you try to walk in to the alien you'll end up walking on top of him then dropping in to glitch city. Most of the time you drop to the floor below after the game hangs for about 10 seconds. I did manage to drop outside of the playable area though which was cool. Yakumo
The elevator glitch in HL1 for PC. Recently replayed, and re-experienced the inability to use the elevator. Drives me nuts. None the less, great game!
Jet Set Radio Future. Once this bug hits, and you save your game, there is no turning back. You get locked into a stage with no way to reach the end. You have to start the entire game all over again.
SimCity 2000 for Macintosh, the first version had a bug with budget that when you connect road to neighboring communities, the budget mysterious skyrocket and you'd go broke in days. If you saved the game after the bug hits, you're screwed and go to restart the city from scratch
Managed to crash mortal combat 3 ultimate on the megadrive the other day, resulting in this register and stack dump: http://imgur.com/rJLHi Cool huh.
A GMOD server crashed two hours into working on a map, thankfully much of the two hours was pissing around trying to get objects to go together properly and then I learned how to finally do it so we can re-do it faster and we didn't lose too much
This explains allot, I had been stuck at a certain level.... played it for HOURS and didnt know how to finish it....never touched the game ever since!
Either Beyond Good & Evil or FFX. In BGE I loaded my save which was near the end, started walking forward and all of a sudden I was stuck in a wall. Re-loaded the save, tried walking in a different direction and got the same thing. Tried everything I could think of but that was it. My game was screwed. With FFX my PS2 decided to freeze and I lost about 3-4 hours of progress. My dumb fault for not saving but I never went back to that game. Oh, I forgot when my PS2 memory card all of a sudden decided to corrupt itself. 93% complete GT4 savegame .. gone. After a re-format the MC seemed okay but I didn't trust it so I never used it again.
1) Horde 3DO, wiped all saved games. 2) Don't remember game name but uninstaller wiped of HDD, killing Win98 along with a lot of saved games. 3) Batteries failed on both GB and SNES Zelda games. After that Zelda fail i have backups of all memory cards (my PS2 is modded, and i have GC memcard to USB adapter)
Not the worst of all, but when a missle stops mid-air (about 2 metres before the tank) it's kinda shitty if you are in the enemy team
