When I was about 13 or 14 I was hanging out with a friend and we went to his cousin's house. We walked in through the back and I saw an arcade Mario game. The one with the pow block in the middle where the turtles would come out of the pipes. This thing was just sitting in his backyard. His mom wanted it gone so he was going to sell it to me for $20. Everything worked great we played it for a little bit with no problem. I told my dad about it and he refused to take me to go get it. I'm still mad at him for that. It had to be worth at least 500 bucks. Whats your worst/best missed opportunity?
a missed NES, here are hard to get, this was mint, 11 games, originals with their case, two mint joysticks, a mint zapper, all for $30 (argentinian pesos not even 8 dollars) i didn't bought it because it had a damaged 7805 regulator and because i was a stupid kid, shame on me
Not the worst and I don't know that I ever was in a store at the time but I sure wish I'd bought a bunch of brand new Virtual Boys when they were getting rid of them for 20$ each.
my worst moment was that I almost got a N64 DD with Goshin the Giant for free and the seller changed their minds before giving me their address i don't know if i was trolled lol
Telegames UK were selling them new in box for a whole 30 pounds with an official SCART cable not 5 years ago. Although now they still sell them new for 150 pounds... Although for a console that barely has 2 decent games, I can't see why people want to buy the console.
About a year ago my brother was at a thrift store and they had what they said a broken neo geo arcade machine for a mere 25 bucks,my brother told me about it the next day,I told him he should have called me when he saw it,I would have payed him back but the damn thing was already sold the next day:sorrow:
That was almost 10 years ago, I missed the Swedish version of ZELDA SNES, the one with the big box and the guide, for 30 euros.... I had no idea what it was, I remember pointing it to my friend and laughing, telling him that it was probably fake...
I remember when they stopped making the NES one of our local stores were selling their remaining top loader stock for $20 each - missed out because I was about 13 and my mum wouldn't loan me the money. About 10 years ago in a pawn shop I saw a boxed 32X for $30 and a boxed white Saturn (like, immaculate box) for another $30. Was a day before payday but when I went back the next morning they were gone. Those hurt the most.
Missed out on a 120+ PC-Engine CD games bundle in a Yahoo auction. They went for a mere 300 Euros back in the day... and many of those games were sealed, even some rare shooters among it. The rest of them was mint with spine-cards in protective sleeves... I've hardly seen another auction of this kind again. That was pretty much half the entire CD library I also missed out on 150 boxed Famicom games for, again, 300 Euros. There were so many rare gems in mint condition among it, such as the Hyper Olympics bundle, many pulse line & early namco/konami games as well as lots of good games as well. I bought it for a someone else for 45'000yen and I got around $150 commission for buying it... so.... I'm not sure if this has to be considered a good or bad memory lol.
A grand piano with root wood finish, playable and in good condition for a 100 year old instrument. I did not have the means to transport it. Went for just under 30€.
very true i am not a NES owner myself i have a couple of Famicom clones and about 10 famicom games nothing but common but good stuff i go to racketboy.com and search the rarest games to study up just incase i find one of the games mentioned for cheap thats how i found Action 52 sega genesis loose cart for 5 dollars !
