Am I the only person who believes AVATAR is overrated?

I'd go with Herman's opinion here. Avatar is pretty good for an approx. 300 Million Dollar action movie and a really deep storyline would have been rather inappropriate here.

Just take a look at all the other most expensive movies of all time. They're crap:

    Pirates of the Caribbean 2+3
    Spider-Man 2+3
    Transformers 2

And now then there was Avatar, the only good one out of those above. But there will always remain a group of people who believe they had to go against it just because it's so popular (or is there another reason?)!

Whoever believes that movie lacks depth, go watch some Tarkovsky or Lars von Trier. I doubt the majority of those critics would like those films actually, they're not predominantly made to be enjoyed, the full opposite to Avatar.

Well, i'm black but I don't speak for all black people. But I didn't find Avatar racist at all. I thought James Cameron did a marvelous job with the film. I totally understood Cameron's agenda with the film. Some of it having to do with colonialism, destroying the indigenous people's habitat while seizing control of natural resources for Capital gain - IN COMPLETE 3-D !! The film just worked for me. Also, I approve of interracial relationships. I think its beautiful for people to fall in love with one another regardless of their ethnic background if they so choose without intimidation. So obviously it didn't bother me about Sully's character with Neytiri. I'm glad this film made over a billion dollars, it deserved its technical achievements at the Oscars and i'm anticipating the next installment. Bring it, Cameron !

How does it differ from a regular Big Mac menu? Do we get Na'vi meat? They must do something will all those dead natives... they owe them that.

And the irony here is that they must have killed indigenous people to steal their lands and use ir to grow the beef for that burger.

Oh but they werent cool tall blue people! not smelly ugly small brown people, like the ones that cut white people's grass.

    Guess thats why nobody cares...

Wouldn't Neytiri be Pocahontas in this analogy? She doesn't die.

Anyway, I did get this movie on DVD a while ago, and I still think it's pretty damn good, even if the "environmentalist" thing is laughable.

Pocahontas died of yellow fever (I think) in real life... So they both should have died
