    Okay, sounds great.

But is there a tool to read FATX images? I managed to extract the fatx image, but I haven't found any tools to read it. That or I'm doing something wrong...

There are tools to decrypt it, read it, and extract it, so Im not entirely sure what you are getting at. In the end you are left with a pretty standard setup of a bunch of files and folders, and a couple of XBEs

Mine just hangs at the XBOX Splash screen... Am I doing something wrong?

@blueshogun96: You need the tool "FAT-X-Plorer Chihiro" to extract all files from a FAT-X.DAT file.

works on my crystal not my hacked up retail... my assumption is because of the patches put in to make debug bios boot on retail console...

I tried switching to 480p in the settings, but not sure if those settings change unless I have HD cables...

I've been reading about this here and other forums but still couldn't get a straight answer.

Is it possible to run Virtua Cop 3 on a retail console? If it is what is required?

    - Upgrade of memory: that I already know at least 128 Mb
    - Version: Up to version 1.4 right others its no possible
    - Bios: does it require the Chihiro Bios? Do we have to flash the xbox Bios with the new one?
    - Cables: Are the component cables really required I've seen different answers on this. I cannot use the DVI exit? But I can still use and HDMI port on TV right?
    - Patched console: Does it need any chip in a way that runs game backups?

Anything else? Does it run smoothly I also read some feedback that the game was running but rather slow.

    Thanks

Yep, 128mb. Up to 1.5 can take the RAM, but I dont know if the units with a Focus encoder work or not (simply dont have one). Bios is just the standard XDK bios on a debug kit for me, so can't comment. There is no DVI or HDMI on the console. And yes, you would need a modchip to be able to boot the code.

The game works perfectly fine, on a debug kit at least.

Thanks but my issue here to know if it runs fine on a retail one modded of course. Debug consoles are expensive and I do not want to pay that money for a game only. Maybe if I was a collector, wanted to play more games or develop something I could spend that amount of cash but not the case, plus I own an xbox 360 already.

Maybe someone that has a console and the game could answer this. It's funny I have the game but not the console :D

Wish the 360 could run the dam game would make my life easier.

Hi, what can I say I tested it on:

    - retail xbox
    - PAL
    - 128 Mb
    - tested on dashboards (EvoX, XBMC, UnleashX, XDK dashboard)
    - cables only on m$ scart rgb

also tried this method and on each without effect, only black screen.
I suspect that the problem lies in the cables that you need to run it via component.

Are the component cables hard to get?

Not at all, you can get generic cables on ebay and other sites. Be advised that these cables do not offer digital audio out...Only regular stereo analog.

For that you will need a Xbox HDAV component pack. These are more rare and cost more. Also, you have to supply your own component cables (male to male).

So if you don't have a sound system that takes in digital audio in (TOSLINK) you should take the regular cables as they are a way cheaper solution.

I have both and the regular cables produce picture quality as good as the HDAV pack (tested on 480p and 720p).

    Thanks.

Someone told me that the game has several slow downs during gameplay even with 128Mb. Does this happen only on the retail modded consoles or on the debug also?

Anyway of upgrading it to more then 128Mb? I guess a new customized Bios would be required...

Only with upgraded systems, the slow down is probably due to the Focus chip on the 1.4-1.5 systems. Early models don't have this problem.

Xbox Debug units are relatively cheap these days. If you really want to mess with VC3, that's probably the most straightforward route.

Even cheaper to solder chips onto a retail board.
