Are you buying the PS4 and Xbox One?

I'll be getting both at launch. Forza 5 looks amazing and is a must-own for me. The PS4 launch lineup isn't as good, but I'm gonna get AC4 for it just to have something to play on it. Mostly it'll be my Diablo III machine when that launches next year.

 

Well, they did add that part about being able to use all the footage you make without requesting permission...but it's OK, Sony just loves their customers and this is not something people got pissed off about because Facebook did it!

 

I don't play to buy either machine. While I'm sure there will be a few games worth playing, there are already a ton of games worth playing. The 3DS is probably the system I would buy if the 3DS XL would drop in price a bit. The titles available and that will be available soon are pretty good. I would like to play the new Mario games and certainly the new Zelda game. And it would be spending a lot less money than buying either the Xbox One or PS4. Not that I couldn't get them, I just don't feel they would be worth it to me. I'd feel like the $460 or $560 + tax it would cost me to get either system and a game could buy me so much more.

For example with the 3DS I could get the XL console for $200, leaving atleast another $260 for games. That would be atleast 6 brand new games. Compare that to just 1 game. Then ofcourse we can get retro. I could buy alot of retro goodness for $460/$560.

 

Launch means three things:

1)Poor hardware build quality
2)Lack of decent games
3)Everything costs a lot

I'll do my usual which is to wait for a price drop on the hardware and by that time the software will have started to come down in price.

 

I preordered both but with how much gaming I have to catch up on might wind up just selling one of them and waiting off

 

I preordered the Xbox One.

At the end of the day I am always going to get the console that has Halo. I've always loved the series. And I definitely think it's on the up and up after Halo 4. I loved that game.

At launch I'm getting Battlefield 4, Forza, Killer Instinct, and Crimson Dragon. There's also that golf game NO ONE is talking about that looks like a ton of fun.

The PS4's launch line up, especially the exclusives, just aren't very exciting. :/ I wish I could get both. It'd be awesome to run the PS4 through my X1 and use Kinect voice commands to switch between the two systems. lolol

Hes still streaming now, playing PSN games. In the chat they mentioned that since the embargo lifted today we'll see people more people streaming. Twitch is a great way to check things out before spending money.

 

Was planning on a PS4 since even the half assed R9290 is 400 bucks, but there are rumors of a RROD situation with PS4 so pass, I get it when sony stops being a cheapass and ups the quality

 

I was just about to leave to get a PS4. Tire is flat So much for that. Now I'll probably have to wait a couple a months until the chaos ends and I can get one in store at MSRP.

 

Pretty much. I tend to buy a console at the launch of a generation but not this time.

I had a PS4 pre-ordered for the longest time (non-bundled, launch day guaranteed), but just couldn't get hyped up for it. I ended up canceling the pre-order and picking up a brand new Vita instead with Gravity Rush and Wipeout 2048. Probably around $200 after everything is said and done. I'll likely get a Wii U as well to play the upcoming Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, and Wonderful 101.

Not buying either of these at launch has saved me a significant amount of cash, and I'm hoping the PS4/XBOne will turn out the same.

 

Here's something that's bothering me:
"The internet" pisses and moans about Nintendo making sequels, but they're on Sony's dick with their big games being another Killzone, another Uncharted, and another inFamous.

What's even worse is that Killzone and inFamous were just responses to Halo and Crackdown to begin with.

 

Got a confirmation email from Amazon that my XBO is on the way. I'm gonna have a hard time getting anything done at work tomorrow

 

My Xbox One arrived this morning, but half of my games didn't!

Right now all I have are FIFA (Download), Crimson Dragon (Download), Killer Instinct Ultra Edition (Download), Forza 5, Battlefield 4, and Call of Duty Ghosts.

Zoo Tycoon, Dead Rising 3 (which I was really looking forward to) and Ryse have not showed up.

 

I completely agree. Sony fanboys swear KillZone is the shit yet feels so dull for a fps. Resistance was much better. Funny how KillZone was Sony's answer to Halo yet failed miserably. Most people forget that

 

How are you liking it so far? I was just at my sisters Testing out the console. I'm not gonna lie, That new Xbox controller is easily on par with the DS4. I love the thumbsticks and the rumble this time around. I don't understand all the hate for the X1. It's a pretty cool console with nice features, sure those features don't define gaming, but nonetheless its nice. PS4 is nice too but I had way more fun with the X1. Dead Rising was awesome, and Forza 5 was breathtaking despite the lack of content. Battlefield 4 looked pretty much exactly the same as on my Brother's PS4 so I don't understand why these fanboys continue to argue about that. Still, they're both nice consoles but X1 just has better launch titles. Definitely getting one for myself in the future when they make them smaller

 

I have all three next gen consoles now and I still favor the Wii U over the PS4 and Xbox One. The PS4 controller is great , updates suck. The Xbox One initial update sucked same with the games updates but hey it comes with the console now a days. Going to play Mario 3D now

 

Just like last generation, I'll be getting both systems. For now I'll wait for the XBOX 360 and PS3 shit to become an all-time market low and mod the systems, then play games I missed out on during the generation.

 

I got my XBO late last night. I went with the full Day One bundle of the Day One console, Day One editions of Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse Son of Rome, and the Day One XBL gold subscription card (I haven't had an XBL gold account since 2006)... So pretty much I'm the completionist collector sucker that Microsoft was targeting with all this "Day One" crap . So far I've been having a blast with the system. I've actually been playing Killer Instinct more than anything. It's dang good fun, and you can string together some ridiculously crazy combos. I'm not a hardcore fighting game fan, so I can't comment on the game from that standpoint. I haven't done much with my other games because even if you have a retail copy, you have to "install" the games to play them (which takes forever). What really bugs me, and this is my only complaint so far, is that even after you install the game you need to have the disc in the console to play it. Other than that, everything has been really good.
