Buying the PS4 next year or year after, X1?.....nah, 360 was a good console but i've always been more of a sony guy I still have a ton of stuff to play through from last gen I agree that killzone is meh, i never liked it (not even the original on PS2). But nintendo are a completley different ballgame how many mario and zelda games are there now compared to killzone/uncharted lol, atleast sony brings some new ips each gen (Ape Escape/Syphon Filter PS1, Killzone/J&D/Ratchet&Clank PS2, Resistance/LBP/Infamous PS3). I like nintendo and all but really the only main franchise they have that interests me is pokemon
As of right now I want Dead Rising 3 (XBO) and Guilty Gear Xrd (PS4), those are the only games I'm looking out for. I'd be willing to drop the money on an XBO for Dead Rising 3 should I have the cash but launch is never a good time to invest in a console unless you intend on hacking it at a later date, if I'm paying top dollar for a machine I want it to function properly and not have the risk of it being plagued with issues. Perhaps it's better to wait until after Christmas and let Microsoft get a few runs of the system out to wash out any hardware issues in manufacturing.
Since everything I didn't care about on the PS3 and 360 is being emphasized this generation (online functionality/motion control), I'm planning to ignore the PS4 and Xbone. Also, there is way too much focus on making shiny graphics these days, and nobody wants to make anything other than boring, linear products. The one new game I thought might actually be decent was The Evil Within, but after seeing the trailer, it's clear that the team was talking out their asses about making a "true horror experience..." It's just another Resident Evil 4 clone. I mean, maybe the final game will be alright, but so far it isn't looking promising. I bought a 3DS because my girlfriend wanted me to play Animal Crossing with her, so I might get some usage out of that eventually. I have my eye on some games for it, but currently want to wait for them to get real cheap.
Now that the systems are out, I think I give launch games winner to Xbox One. Forza and Ryse are gorgeous and really show off the system's capabilities. The PS4 lineup was just not that great in terms of showing off the system. I think hardware wise PS4 had a smoother roll out though with only a few reports of broken consoles. Xbox One's disk drive failure is pretty widespread. I even saw someone returning a unit last Friday when I went to pick up Zelda 3DS. That said, Atlus just announced new games for PS3. Since 360 and PS3 have such a huge install base we should still be getting new games for awhile without having to go next gen for those that want to wait.
Yup. Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Killer Instinct, Forza 5, and Crimson Dragon (which is solid, but somewhat flawed and not as good as Panzer Dragoon) made for a pretty decent launch.
Getting my ps4 Friday (pre ordered) here in UK. Ill agree that Xbox one has stronger launch game line up but Microsoft killed me off as a fan with all the bad drm stuff earlier in the year (their whole attitude was ridiculous till they back peddled). Really feeling the ps4 vibe and played one in a shop Sunday and was very impressed
Just had some laughs of the Brazilian launch of the PS4, in São Paulo. No physical games available, not even on Sony stores. Fnac Paulista had 8 consoles and for hours no one showed any interest for them. At two Sony Stores, 5 consoles available. Not a single sale. This is what they get for trying to sell a 400 dollars console for 4.000 Reais... At Black Friday sale day i might add! lol The point remains: Why did they even bother?! Here's the article (in portuguese): http://jogos.uol.com.br/ultimas-not...l-ps4-chega-sem-jogos-e-tem-baixa-procura.htm EDITED: News got internationally! PS4 sells 0 units in Brazil (Official Sony Brazil units that is) http://www.craveonline.com/gaming/a...-0-units-in-brazil-due-to-insane-asking-price With a lesser insane price (and with some online store promotions + % off vouchers), the Xbox One is selling well. All that because of midnight launch and a huge marketing campaign, including TV spots on lots of channels. Worth mentioning that the 360 already had a big following and Microsoft has almost 50% of the market.
Wow! that is insane... I ended up getting a PS4, but I can't say I'm too impressed. It's still early days though!
I hope that Microsoft can work out some of the kinks when the console interface gets out of beta (because it sure isn't production quality right now). The PS4 is a lot better looking, faster and more streamlined from my perspective.
i wanted to get a ps4 (almost) at launch, but after loosing watch dogs and driveclub as my primary want-to-get-first titles and NFS rivals turning out to be not as great as i thought ill probably wait until next year before getting one
Why is the PS4 so expensive compared to the X1 in brazil anyways. I know its to do with taxes but man something really went wrong over there, hard to blame sony for that
This is incorrect and sadly a lie. The PS4 here - Brazil - sold at least 2 units that people showed up on YouTube on release day.
Wow! 2 units! lol Ask the genious people from Sony Brazil. PS4 in USA: 400 dollars PS4 in Brazil: 4000 Reais Wii U in Usa: 300 dollars Wii U in Brazil: 1900 Reais Yep, to Sony Brazil 100 dollars means an extra 2100 Reais on the price tag.
Well, at least, not everyone wants to make a video of their 4k purchase while the whole nation claims they are idiots =P By the way the BR PS4 comes in Spanish and Portuguese, even the box. So I guess the one released in Argentina/Paraguay and other south america countries will have the exact same package including the Portuguese manual.
Yes, the south american distribution is a sub-division of SCEA. Even the campaign slogan is the same: "Vive en estado play / Viva em estado play"
Brilliant video! I was fortunate enough to get both or depending on how you look at it, stupid enough... I'm a big fan of the exclusives on both platforms, I was skeptical about the new Xbox operating system but after spending the past week with it I really like it, it does still feel a little unfinished which I guess is unacceptable but there is potential
