Yes, there were about six earlier fanzine releases under the name "megafun" in the year 1992 which were sold at game retailers only.

I don't count them in because the mag was entirely different (b/w, cheap paper, awkward covers) and these are next to impossible to come by nowadays. According to an interview with one of the authors, each issue had only a 1000 copy run.

Got this motherfucker from a friend: A Hori Stick EX2 for the Xbox 360 was gutted and re-equipped with brand-new Seimitsu-parts and a new overlay:

The stick can be hooked up by using several custom made control boxes.

I got control boxes for Famicom/NES, Mega Drive, USB (mac/pc/PS3), Sega Saturn, PS1 + PS2 and Dreamcast (w/VMU support).

A PC-Engine-control box will be in the works as soon as I get my ordered CGII controller.

=)

Sweet! Does it still work for XBOX360 after all that gutting? :D

Looks very, very nice!

No, the Xbox stuff has been removed entirely. It works with a PS3 if you hook it up with the USB control box (which once had been a cheap Saturn USB pad from HK), but other than the PS3 the 360 does not support USB controllers so it wouldn't recognize it.

It's no problem to make another control box for the 360 though :)

Big newz in my hood.

Saturn news:
Music School limited edition (with Yamaha keyboard) in excellent condition. It looks like new from the inside o_O
I also got Saturn Music School 2 (boxset) which completes my Music School-collection. I now have part 1 + LE ver. and part 2, another chapter closed.

The V-Saturn came with several, I think 15 or so, taikenban (demo) discs. I also got the other Nissan VCD that I was missing (Terrano & Primera) so I guess it was time for a new photo of my taikenban collec:

What is missing is my complete Mogitate Sega Saturn-collection (complete means with 95% of the paper stuff and both video tapes) since it's packed away due to its bulky nature.

I also have 15 PAL and 3 US demos. The Japanese collection in the picture above is countin around 60 discs right now (out of 235 Japanese hibaihins o_O) which isn't too bad I guess. There are still lots of discs to go for, especially from magazines like Saturn Super, Tech Saturn and of course around 20 more Flash Saturns... I'm still waiting for a complete collection auction that doesn't start at 28'000yen heheh.

Then I received some stuff that will please Tatsujin-sama:
Nexzr was very expensive at 121 Euros but I wanted this damn game so badly and it's so hard to get it with spine + regcard in perfect condition >_<
Akumajo Dracula X is absolutely mint and only cost me 17 Euro if you divide the total amount for my package from japan with the amount of games. Quite a deal

Ane-san and Dynastic Hero are still factory-sealed.
I didn't know Dynastic Hero was until I got the package, so it was quite a... disappointment :p I really wanted to play the game, now I "have" to get another opened copy. Fucking principles, lol.

Some random shots of my current PC-Engine collection. A PCE Duo-R and several accessories are on their way, I also bought Kyuukyoku Tiger & New Zealand story recently but what the fuck.

Favourite and expensive (not necessarily both) games. =)

Now I only have to get my hands on an RGB-Duo-R and the poor days of PCE-love are finally over :)

thx mate! I sure try to keep the engine running, but it's gonna slow down once I start my studies... so time for a little showdown :D

@Tatsujin
Yeah, I figured that when I realized the price actually stayed the same even though it's a sealed copy. What is the game like? Much text? Adventure Island had a little too much dialogue and "running around" for my taste, I'm more a fan of pure platformers... not sure if that Wonderboy conversion would suit me. Is it similar to Adv. Island and Bikkuriman World in these aspects?

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I was at the customs today...

Thx to GaijinPunch... twice. ;)

Quite a lot of accessories for the Saturn and PC-Engine. All of them are brandnew and unopened.
The Saturn controllers aren't the easiest to get, especially new in box. Or when you find them boxed, they are bleached to death because no one wanted to pick them up in ages :p

PC-Engine Duo-R (supermint, though lacking the original controller... contact me if you have one :) ), Neo Geo w/boxed joyboard + memory card and 7 games (condition varies from used to near mint, all complete w/manuals and, partially, baggies).
The NG and stick boxes are quite tatty, I know, but the NG's serial is as low as 52xxx, which is a nice surprise (no matching serials though).

Teh mintness

More PSX love.
Ore no Ryouri, Philosoma, Wolf Fang, Internal Section, Einhänder (hab's nun 2x), Tenchu etc.
All mint & like new... the previous owner was actually the first owner and stored all Reg-Cards and stickers/flyers/collector's cards (gundams) inside the boxes. Everything is perfect, that's what it's supposed to be like...

Ore no Ryouri's box design falls under "oh my gawd, how luvely!"

A bit of pornography for horseracing fans... is this a complete DS-Saturn collection? At least I've never heard about anything else with relation to DS.

A shot of my "hill of shame", or "the stuff I don't know where to put"...

Do you have any infoo about the Music School limited edition thingy? a quick google doesn't throw up anything. Sounds interesting, not heard about such a set until now, but I'm more interested in the software.

What's that Sega Saturn Joypad AI?? Looks like it has a small screen :-0

Congrats for all that stuff that came in, looks as minty as it gets!

BTW, do you keep everything in the same room or have some stuff in deep storage?

I just re-up'ped all the images from the last two posts on imageshack. Thankfully the site has changed a bit in terms of performance since I last used it, maybe I'll stick with it. ^^

Music School is a keyboard/piano learning software for the Sega Saturn. Two parts were released, each in a small boxset including a "Saturn serial port -> MIDI" adaptor.

The software is just learner's program, not a game. You can compose and practice songs. The first game was released in two versions: game + MIDI-adaptor and another version containg the software, midi-cable, midi-adaptor and a Yamaha-keyboard.

It fits in perfectly with my collection of wacky Saturn controllers :p I now have 1x Train, 1x Horseracing, 1x Piano, 1x RC Racer, 1x double-Virtua-Stick, ... oh well.

1) Indeed, it has a small display as well as tons of other features. I don't know how well these work, but the text on the packaging sounds incredible.
[/IMG]

[/IMG]

I think it says that it could be programmed with 54 different combo moves, has 5 steps of autofire in shmups and 5 steps of slowmotion as well as some sort of "steering-only"-option in racing games as it takes over the accelaration and breaking? wtf? Has anybody ever tried that? ^^

2) There's some stuff down in the cellar (all PAL consoles + n64/GB+A pal games) and the magazines are stored away, but all my Japanese games & hard is in the same room. I'll take some new pictures of the room when the acquisition-deadline has come (before the move to where I'll go to college). :)

Thanks guys. It's the ultimate showdown before the big break :D Something that bugs me already is that I don't have the time to play all the games, but maybe I become a billionaire early in my life so I can start catching up at the age of 35^^

And another package of games just got in, amazingly it's not from Japan or even overseas, I finally managed to get a great deal of reasonably priced FC games from a collector in Germany. o_O

left to right, top to bottom:
Heisei Tensai Bakabon, Debias, Lupin III Pandora no Isan, Rolling Thunder, Golgo 13, Juju Densetsu
Kage no Densetsu, Choujin Sentai Jetman, Valis 1, Tsuppari Oozumou (increasing my wacky Sumo-game collection to a whopping 4), Tatakai no Banka, Urusei Yatsura, Ganbare Goemon 2, Jacky Chan

And a shitload of Kuniokun-Games (I believe it's pretty much all the Famicom ones except for Dodgeball/Soccer/Hockey/Basketball):

Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun (the 1st from 87 - just look at "realistic Kunio" on the cover :p I'm glad they changed the design to SD cute!)
Bikkuri Nekketsu Shinkiroku: Dokodemo kin medal
Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari
Downtown Nekketsu Koushinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundoukai
Downtown Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki da yo Zen‘in Shuugou!
Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu

DNM is nice, but one game I've always wanted to play on the FC is DNK: Soreyuke Daiundoukai. You get to play several games on what seems to be a "sport festival day" at school and you can beat up your opponents with bottles, sticks, etc...!
Golgo 13 I've yet to try out, but I'm excited how the sniper simulation part turns out.

All games are complete and most of them mint w/baggies and flyers. Only Tsuppari Oozumou and Legend of Kage are a bit tatty... plus the first Downtown Monogatari game is bleached to death. I can't sell it because I like the game, but it's got to be replaced someday ;_;

Ok fin I've already written way to much:cur_sonic:

Rolling thunder cover is one of the greatest. I also love the game.

Nice haul. How much did it set you back?

Let's say I just paid about 5 Euro per game shipped. Considering these Kunio games for the Famicom are totally overhyped on Yahoo I don't think it was too bad of a price :)

Rolling Thunder is a little too frustrating for my taste. Metrocross is a brilliant Namco game, I got the arcade version on the Namco Museum disc and the FC cart - but the sound is much better on the PSX.

Anyway, about the woman on the RT cover...
