This week end I've been packaging my entire collection for the because I'll move to Canada at the end of June. My room is almost empty now, only the black Duo & my Virtua Stick Pro are left due to being too big for any box. Everything that's left now is my magazine & comic collection as well as a Sega Saturn with Batsugun & Battle Garegga. Those will be packaged only one day before the move Anyway, here's some random shots of my current Saturn collection. Las consolas: Los juegos: Gamez: 332/1265 (26,25%) Demos/Taikenbans: 66/235 (28,09%) Le capcom Dungeons & Dragons Collection, Tenchi Kurau II, SF Collection, Street Fighter Zero 1-3, X-Men COTA, X-Men vs. SF, Marvel Super Heroes vs. SF, Marvel Super Heroes, Pocket Fighter, SF The Movie, Vampire Hunter+Savior, Capcom Gen. 1-5, Biohazard Some random video game prornographiez: Les Einhändeurses Famicom collection: 107 carts & 19 Disks Segagaga sealed
Current state of my collection.... ;_; But I'll unbox some Mega Drive, Saturn, GC, PS1, Famicom and Arcade stuff.
What a bummer! Are you already in Canada? You must have been really worried while the collection was on transit, I know I would D: !
Yeah, I'm in Canada since the 27th of June. The collection was one part, but there were things on that boat that were are even more precious to me than my games like photo albums and shit. It would have been an enormous, unthinkable loss, but fortunately something like a container almost never disappears. The worst part of it was to move my arcade cabinet downstairs. These doors in Canada are really narrow compared to the ones in Europe... it was a hard job getting that thing in the basement and I don't even want to think about moving it back up again Here're some photos taken during the action: :---( It arrived in the basement without a scratch though
Lol, you even brought your cab? How long do you plan to stay there? And what kind of accomodation is this place exactly?
I brought everything I own, planning on staying here forever basically Maybe I'll move on someday, Vancouver, the US, Japan, everything is possible. For now I'm just gonna live in Canada and most likely will go on living in Vancouver once I've finished my studies in 2015 or so. Until last year, my collection will stay in my parent's (rented) house which you can see on the pictures. They'll probably move again in 2012 because rent = wasting money, so there's more work ahead :dammit: Anyway, I gotta take pictures of my new game room once I get my step-up converters. I'm really happy with it (I only unboxed the FC/FCDS/SS/PS1+2/DC/MVS collections), and hopefully I can still enjoy it a bit until I have to leave again in 2 weeks. Heading to Vancouver
Wow it must have been tough to get that cab through such tight spaces! Luckily it didn't get hurt Having to move sucks, and it sucks even more when you have to deal with large quantities of fragile stuff as items from a vgame collection, I've been moving from place to place every year and a half or so for the last 6-7 years so I am already used to it, but I can imagine an overseas move can be very difficult. Show us pics of the new game room soon !
Le game room: The RGB front. Amiga monitor and the Sony TV on the left are already working (300W step-up converter), but I probably ended up getting a converter that's too weak for the huge PVM screen since it wouldn't even power up. It will be the centrepiece of my RGB wall, but well, guess since I won't have it working before December I might as well take pictures right now All consoles but the FC/FCDS are hooked up via RGB (even the GC for its insides are of PAL origin). I was planning on adding RGB output to the FC, but I couldn't find a spare chip fast enough. This project will have to wait some time... A shelf I got off Kijiji for a only 30$. To the right is my boxed up collection + a couple of empty cartons (for the games in the shelf). Shelf with various shit, Egret II, Famicom/FC Disk shelf. I only unpacked the games that would fit into the shelf and are useful to me (to a certain extend ), so no demos/LEs.
hey ave, care to share any details on your setup? i'd like to take advantage of rgb support on my tv, but don't understand how any of this shit works, hah. i've always wondered how you can get multiple consoles hooked up via rgb simultaneously - is there a commercial switcher for that task, or did you make something yourself? and that's a great gaming room, of course! must have been a nerve-wracking move with so much expensive stuff in transit, glad it all went well for you.
There are commercial switchers, you can see them on the picture at the leftern side (the greyish blocks) and one is next to my GameCube. I have no idea why, but the big blocks are not working (picture is rolling through), I might contact the maker of these about the problem (Wolfsoft.de). If you live in Europe it should be fairly easy to get the stuff you need. RGB cables for all consoles that support it (PC-Engine, N64 and some others need to be modified), an RGB switch (you might want to ask the seller if all inputs are really equipped with full RGB support, sometimes only one out of 4 supports RGB and the rest are simply scart composite-ins) and a TV that accepts RGB via Euro-Scart. Japanese scart-cables won't work because they used different pins.
Some news. First up my recent PCE hauls from August: All of them mint with spine-cards and most of them also came with a reg-card. Saturn hauls off Yahoo Japan: + Parodius da!, Motocross Maniacs, Taito Chase HQ & Puzzle Bobble GB (all Gameboy) My 6th Saturn console: I posted this when I won the auction in the incredible deals thread - the package cost me a total 280yen. Yes, 3.50$ for both the console and the gun. I now divided the total price for the Yahoo package (including the other stuff that was sent in the same package) and divided it by the total amount of items and as a result the Saturn and the gun each cost me 9.84 Euros. Saturn Hibaihins/Taikenbans: 56x including discs like Rabbit, Code R (cardboard), DonPachi, Hudson Soft Lineup, Magical Drop 1, several Capcom demos, Victory Goal, Maajang Kyou Jidai Sexy Idol hen (rare), a minten VF Kids Java Tea and many more. That increases my collection to a whopping 109/245-ish Japanese taikenbans/demos, I'm finally getting along!! Thanks to Yakumo whose auction I won. I also got one of my personal holy grails of Famicom collecting:
You have a really nice collection and setup! I appreciate so much every collection which includes a cab *_*
All mint (spinecards fresh & not sunbleached), Stellar Assault w/sticker All but Strahl & Race Drivin' mint (these games' spinecards are sunbleached, otherwise complete - but I wanted to play them too badly to pass on) Not pictured is an Angelique Special Premium Pack (soft = sealed) & a Super Factory Full Cowl Boxset (mint) One might assume that I got this for Christmas, but I already bought this package in July 2011. It was sitting at my parents' home only for me to come back during Christmas break to unbox it, finally.
Thanks guys! The squarebutton FC, yet used, is in really good condition. Now the only things I really want in terms of FC consoles is a Titler and a Box/Station!
Just got this. Famicom no Video - the 20th Anniversary DVD featuring plenty of beautiful Famicom footage. Released in 2003, ever since out of print and constantly available on Yahoo for 5000-9000yen Poor me waited for years until it appeared on ebay, then sagged it for 25 Euros and it even comes with a pre-order bonus (small pillow-like keychain). Anyway, this DVD is pure love. I would say for a Famicom collector it's even worth the 9000 that some people pay on YAJ. It features the first commercials in splendid quality (all but one featuring the square-button Famicom), the Game King competition, also in brilliant quality (Takahashi Meijin plays Star Soldier over five rounds against a challenger - amazing battle!). There's also a nice little 30min documentary featuring various people from the gaming industry talking about how the Famicom inspired them (Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Hideo Kojima, the Rockman guy,...). Then there's a compilation of the 100 best FC games that goes on for over an hour (chosen by Famitsu) as well as an amazing little video that features three guys sitting in a room trying out the many wacky accessories for the Famicom like the amazing Hyper Shot, the glasses, the gun, the Power Glove, the trackball and so on. I also got some paper shit. My Gradius II PC-Engine is now finally complete and does not have to be ashamed anymore, same applies to my poor Esper Dream 2 for the Famicom (sticker sheet was missing). Spine-cards just in case I come across cheap copies that do not have them. You can never have enough Sapphire spine-cards. I'm still missing Rockman 5 and 6 and they tend to go for ridiculous prices on YAJ if complete, thus I'm glad that now I'm all set for incomplete ghetto shit that doesn't fetch a lot.
