Make sure to let trevormarco know the hex values of the songs that have missing notes so he can use the PAR code to record them again. Apparently there's some kind of issue that emulators will sometimes miss the very beginning of a song. trevormacro: when you retry the songs, hit the button to capture the .spc the exact instant you begin to hear the music. Then send them to Sinrevi again to make sure they're correct.

 

That village is name Nikoru. And it's not in the final game.

By the way, is there a way to change the limit of 3 minutes for spc files?
Some song surpass the 3 minute limit, so there are some songs that drop out halfway. (for example the ending song)

 

I think you have to edit the song's ID tag. See this:

Maybe the audio player you are using has an option in the top menu to edit the song properties/length

Lots of versions, especially the "special" music (music you only hear a few times in the game, like Daos' theme, Sinistrals battle, three tower) sound very WIP-like. Like they sound "weaker". the melodies are the same, it's just the use of instruments, and how loud the supporting melodies are. Uhh... what I mean is they're missing some "oomph" that the final version does have.
Anyway, the final versions are definitely better ^_^

 

Okay, here's a little update:
The main melodies are the same. But most of the songs still need to be polished, compared to the final versions.

There are a few exceptions though:
-The love theme, which sounds much more like the ending theme. (has extra melodies playing similar to the ending song) Most likely just an earlier WIP of To the Future. Shiono said in the OST booklet that the Love theme from the final version is actually a WIP version of To the Future, either the 4th or 5th out of 10 takes.
-the main melody of the small shrine theme doesn't start until 00:15.
- Excerion (Sky) has a longer intro, just like on the OST:

Definitely missing from the files are: Narvick, Excerion (underwater) , For the Savior and Iris' theme.


Song that do not exist in the final game:
"0C" This whole song does not exist in the final game. No idea when this could even play during the game itself. Sounds kinda like a "Hurry up" theme to me.

- "Compensation for the battle" actually this song was released on the soundtrack so you can listen to it here (skip to 00:40): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL23Q1U7T9A
Since this one was released on the OST, it probably means it was removed very late in development.

Anyway, It's just more easier for these to just hear the actual pieces themselves than describe it in words. If it's okay with you, can I record/upload some comparison videos?

Edit: There seem to be 2 versions of judgement day. One sounds more like the final version but has some extra supporting melody in the background.
It seems to be used a few times in the files (as placeholder files perhaps) where other soundfiles are in the final version (like Excerion's underwater theme)

Edit 2: Idura's flute music is missing too, and the same goes for Idura's cage sound effect.

 

Well, as long as you include a copy of the raw dump along with the modified version when it's released, I'm fine.

No I mean the whole list I posted the page before.
Also, your redump files contains the victory tune twice and the battle theme twice (the fifth file is the loading file)
Anyway, now you have the battle theme and victory theme with their intro tunes. However, these intro tunes are missing the first note(s).
I think the loading screen is missing exactly one note too.

by the way, 00 (the earth) is also missing half of it's intro tune.

update on the redump:
Now I do have the underwater theme? (song 20) which was Judgement Day in your previous dump)
26 is now Idura's cage like it is in the final.

The songs sound complete now.
Also, did you do something to fix the music yet again? The songs sound much better now, (much more like the final version)! If so then please redump the other songs too that you haven't redumped yet. (perhaps re-check 37 and 38 too? to check for For the Savior and iris theme)

Does this mean that when you thought you got a full sound fix, the sound was actually still not how it should sound?

Gonna delete my two comparison videos =P And record some new better ones =P
