After sticking the SD card a little less.. I could play a lot of games. But after playing StarFox, I've pressed reset and got: game init: 50. So, is it possible to save on those games ?
i think that problem in your SD card. probably some SD cards may not work with ED64 same as some cards not work with lasted EDMD OSv28. probably i will fix it in future OS. i wonder which SD card you use? brand and size?
this one, here's a picture: http://www.mundialcompras.com/product_images/o/866/MICRO_SD_8GB_-_3_EM_1_KINGSTON_COM_ADAPTADORES_MICRO__MINI__E_SD.__14728_zoom.jpg It's a 8GB micro SD with an adapter to SD. I got it to work after some tweeks, I needed to insert the card not to the finish, but almost. Now it's working and giving errors very rarely. But it keeps giving me errors. Now I have some questions: I've downloaded the Good64 set and all files are torrentziped in 7zip format. In 7zip format all the versions of game need 9mb of space. If I unzip it, it will need 120mb, because of so many versions! 1. Would be possible for the ED64 support 7zip roms ? 2. How do I find out which version of the rom the saves work ? Let's say AeroFighters Assault.7z it has AeroFighters Assault (E) (M3) [!].z64 AeroFighters Assault (E) (M3) [f1] (NTSC).z64 AeroFighters Assault (E) (M3) [o1].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [!].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [b1].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [b2].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [b3].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [f1] (PAL).z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [h1C].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [h2C].z64 AeroFighters Assault (U) [h3C].z64 So, what should I use ? How can I tell ? And even it support saves, I need to press reset before turning off to save the game right ? 3. Is there an allocation size recommended ? Which one should I use ?
1)forget about compression, it will be too slow. 2) "which version of the rom the saves work"not sure what you mean. yes, you should preser reset before turn off 3)32k is optimal
If the [!] version does not work, then try the [f] version, normally those version are fixed to be playable with a game copier.
I made an order when they went back up at Retrogate. I have an order confirmation and paypal confirmation but it's not showing up on the retrogate site under order history. Is this normal?
Well, I used ungoodmerge with my goodn64 set. It would be awesome if somebody with more experience could create a bat file to get the best out of the goodn64 set. Resulting in 311 games in 4,96GB.
If you have the No-Into set you can use the dat file linked in this post to sort them:- http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=463063&postcount=105
@ Sanni this is more or less what the ungoodmerge did but most of the roms need hacked or fixed version to save with the ED64, as far as I know. @ link83 thanks for the link )) I'm downloading the no-intro full set again now to try this dat. By the way, which software supports region priority ? Rom Center can do it ?
actually only flashram games should be hacked for save support, all other games will work in original state
I'm starting to think it would be a good idea to create a thread with a list of flashram games and their possible solutions. I could do it, and keep the first post update with users information. http://n64.icequake.net/mirror/www.elitendo.com/n64/usa_boot_save_list.html Here's a list. Those games that need Controller Pak as primary save, can it be saved into the SD card ? Or I'll need the controller pack either way ?
Banjoe Tooie does not work at all because this game used advanced security methods and saves not involved in this
Yes, it would be interesting because in this thread there is some info about problems with games and save types. It would be better have all kind of posts on an exclusively thread.
Well, formated it again.. and again.. and again.. trying every allocation size. Every possible combination of roms and ED64 folder. It does not work. Maybe next update I'll be able to use the ED64. Right now it has a nice little corner of my shelf. I'll be back to the Super Everdrive. I give up.
Veggav, have you tried with another SD card? With other brand? I think everybody have multiple SD cards at home (I have something about 15-20 at my home). If other brand cards work well it must be something wrong on your Kingston card.. If all SD cards fail, your everdrive 64 is not working right..
