I've only tested with my 8GB kingston. I don't have many SD cards here. Most of them are in use for other Everdrives. There's no way the problem is in my SD card. It work under windows. If Everdrive cannot handle it so... it SHOULD say it before people purchase. Like this "ED64 does not support kingston SD cards". It's not my fault and not Kingston's fault.
woah slow down there dont imply that all kingston cards dont work just because yours doesn't who knows you could have a chinese rip off of a card(if its from the internet i wouldn't doubt it) go buy a new card and enjoy your everdrive:033:
i pretty surre that problem in your SD card, and normal work under windows not mean that card will be works fine evrywhere. if you have other SD cards, then why you does not want to try them? i guess that your card can't work properly in 50mhz mode, so how i will "fix" it? i just make some option for switch cart to 25mhz mode for support crappy SD cards and it mean that your loading time will be twice more slow. so you really want to wait for update for be slooooow? if you will try other card and they also will not work properly, then i will replace your cart by other
not trying to be rude but after experiencing sd problems on ed-md, seems like sd code for ED coudl still use some work
Veggav, try other cards first... There are many devices that don't work with allkind of SD cards.. Some Sd cards are bad and dont work well on all devices... For examples I had to bought 3 different SD cards to my Nintendo Wii and finally only the third card only works with it.. All SD cards worked well on my PC but Wii cannot handle them..
veggav try to use attached OS. it still work in 50mhz mode but gives more time for SD commands execution
SD can be kinda finicky. I see you're using an adapter type. A standard SD might alleviate your problem with the ED64 not reading. All my EDs use Kingston Memory standard sized SD cards, albeit 2GB. This problem might span from the type of SD (micro, mini, or standard) rather than the brand.
First of all, I want to apologize for being rude. I started to drink a lot of beer while trying the Everdrive yesterday and after spending some money on the SD card I got very frustrated. I'm sorry. I want to thank KRIKzz for his express work with this os. I haven't tried that new one yet but as soon as I do it I'll post the results. The reason I don't want to try other SD cards is that I've expended R$56 with this one and I don't want to feel that I have bought an useless SD card. It was the cheapest one at the only store in my city that sells SD cards but still it was the only one. Another reason is that I want to create (just like all my other Everdrives) a full rom set and leave it there and this is my only 8GB card. I think maybe I got spoiled by KRIKzz's previews works, in my other ED everything I've tried out worked, never had a single problem. Today I'll order a new SD card, can anybody point me out a problem-free-working-sure SD card ? EDIT: It worked! Kind of.. it worked. If I stay a little bit focused on a game, like leaving the cursor over it, and than load the game it work. I needed 3 tries to load the game but it worked. So.. I guess if you gave more time for command execution and it almost worked just fine.. can you give even more time and still leave it in 50mhz mode ?
the newest SDHC kingston works weird with some devices, for example newest SDHC kingston doesn't work with wii, I don't know why but thats the fact, maybe for the same unknown reason that carts give problems with everdrive64
The first card I used actually didn't work with the ED64. It's a cheap 8GB MicroSD, that seems to work otherwise but the ED64 wouldn't recognize it at all. I tried a Kingston 4GB MicroSD next which works fine.
Hey Krikzz, Thanks for the new build but it seems it's not the time out. The 1.03b worked better them 1.03C for some reason. My card sometimes works and sometimes it dosn't. So, in the end, I'll buy another card. Can you give me some opinion about this here are the options: SANDISK 8GB PQI 8GB Transcend 8GB or should I go for a 16GB microSD here a link I already have the adapter, do you think it would work ? Which one is a sure shot that will work ?
i dont see why you cant use the cards your useing for your other ever drives unless they are all the same if you have a everdrive MD then it also supports SDHC and you can use the same card without formating
Because I have a single cartridge for every ED. My SD card for the MD is 2gb only because it fits all the roms in 1G1R format.
veggav i have transcend 8gb class 10 and card works fine. beter not use micro cards with adapter if it possible.
It is now able to order the deluxe-editions from our friend "Stone Age Gamer" http://stoneagegamer.com/everdrive64_deluxe.aspx They look deluxe, very nice!! It seems everyone can only order one ED64. I think that is a good idea! 174.99 $ Dollar plus shipping. OK. He made a good job putting the ED64 in a nice shape. But i am happy with my bulk-ed64-order(not sended yet) at http://www.emere.es/. Because of tax and shipping - it is about 50% less. I'm just very sad about the non-existent usb interface.
Anyone in the UK ordered from Retrogate before? I ordered the ED64 on the 6th when it was in stock, I just hope I got the order in there quick enough.
Ordered the transcend 8gb class10 card. Thanks Krikzz. edit: man, I hate to bother people for this but I remember somebody here saying that gameboy games work under emulation in the ED64. Found GBAlator to be the emulator of the gameboy in the 64. Is it soundless ? Does it suck that much ?
Well dang! Did I miss the early sale from Stone Age Gamer? Is there still going to be more on Wednesday?
