I assume that the CIC-included Everdrive 64 uses the CIC 6102 or 7101 chips. What happens at present when trying to play the more rare CIC-chip games such as StarFox64, Yoshi's Story, F-Zero X, etc? NTSC . PAL . Rarity 6101 . 7102 . Rare (Only Starfox 64) 6102 . 7101 . Very common (Most games) 6103 . 7103 . Somewhat uncommon (1st party games 97-98) 6105 . 7105 . Somewhat common (1st party games 99-00) 6106 . 7106 . Rare (Yoshi's Story, Cruis'n Exotica, F-Zero X) *from http://retroactive.be/cic/ The list above is from an effort to reverse engineer the CIC chips, hopefully leading to the creation of a universal CIC chip.
all games except get force and banjo tooie works fine because embedded boot emulator allow to use cic6102/7101 for any game, even if those games used some other cic chips in original carts. banjo and jetfors does not work because they used adwanced security.
not compatible ed64 jet force gemini ebay = 7 euros a 15 euros ok banjo tooie = 40 euros a 50 euros ...ouch!!!! not compatible super everdrive megaman x1 = 200euros 250 euros are you crasy? x2 = 200euros x3 = 200euros the vendor look at the compatibility of the everdrive before selling the games? the most expensive are most of the time not compatible with linker this is just an observation. (krikzz you are the best)
Thanks! Thanks for the reply. That's great news (I already own Banjo Tooie and JetForce Gemini anyway Will more EverDrive64's be available on retrogate soon?
Jet Force Gemini DOES work if you use the cracked version. Banjo Tooie was never cracked. Mega Man X1 DOES work on the Super EverDrive, it's X2 and X3 that do not.
WWF No Mercy is a FlashRAM save game. This is what he just fixed in new Firmware update (1.12). You can see save type here: http://n64.icequake.net/mirror/www.elitendo.com/n64/usa_boot_save_list.html You will need to update firmware to fix this issue.
pre-orders pleaseeeeee ive been checking daily for over a month- when i emailed asking when they would be back kryzz said about 10 days - and that was around 3 weeks ago is there some problem getting the boards and cics? i just want the ed64 board with pal cic and have cash ready and waiting - maybe retrogate should take pre-orders to save us having to keep checking, checking and checking again?
So, it's just a single game that doesn't work with the ED64. This is something to be really proud =)) I think this is the Everdrive with the most successful rate in a console so far. Congratulations, Krikzz.
currently i send all carts to distributor and does not sell them via retrogate just because packaging and sending need a lot of time, so better to leave this work for distributors, at least until i so busy. i will put carts in retrogate stock when i will be have bit more of free time. so cart may back to retrogate in any day, but i don't know when exactly
the distributors prices are way over the top - hence not wanting to entertain buying from them. come on pop some on your own site cash is readyyyyyy
Emere.es is only about €20 more, and includes CIC and case, which is very fair to me. As for the others (e.g. StoneAgeGamer), their extras & service makes up for the higher price.
Emere.es does seem reasonable - thanks. Shame they don't have them available to order... :crying::crying::crying:
So, any game (And there are a lot of them) that saves to a Controller Pak, MUST have a Controller Pak physically inserted into the N64 Controller to save? The ED64 does not save these Controller Pak save games onto the MicroSD Card, correct? If not, is there any way to then copy the save from the Controller Pak to the ED64 MicroSD Card and then load it from the ED64 MicroSD Card?
So, you still are deciding which one to buy, the Ed64 or the 64drive? (noticed your double post. ;-) ) Well, me too. I like the menu of the 64drive much more than the ED64 one, and the possibility to add a nice background in the menu. But my wallet likes the ED64 much more, especially because there is a higher risk to be caught by customs buying something from the USA.
