You need an xdelta patcher, the GoldenEye Setup Editor can do it on vault, or other xdelta patchers. Uses PD Rom 1.1 U not byteflipped.

That's awesome to hear KRIKZZ.. now I guess when I get my ED64 in the mail I'll get to immediately open it up and load up the new firmware. Is there gonna be a tutorial for it like there was for the original ED, or is it the same process just using the AS pins, and picking Active Serial instead of JTAG in Quartus?

    :smashed:

Just orderd myself a USB Blaster. Hope to get it soon.

Will you release a tutorial how this is done?

From what I see this USB Blaster comes with a JTAG plug.
So do we have to solder a pinheader on the AS holes in your PCB?
And then connect there and use the USB Blaster software to write the new firmware?
How big are chances for a brick?

Thanx for the info. Guess I have some 2.54 pitch pinheaders around here somewhere.
Will try it as soon as I get the USB Blaster. Hope it doesnt take too long with express shipping.

Making good on a promise you actually never really made will boost confidence in your products. At least on my part.

Has anyone in the UK received an order from Retrogate? Mine was shipped three weeks ago, but it's not arrived yet. Although I can see when it left the Ukraine, Royal Mail don't track items sent from abroad if they are sent with normal post. I know it's very cheap postage, but I'm not sure if I should worry it's not arrived or if I should be waiting for another week.

i sent a lot of packages to UK and as far as i know all of them was arrived. usually post works fine, but sometimes could be huge delays (up to 40 days) especially for people who live in Australia or south america

Just wanted to show a pic of my Everdrive 64 :

Thanks to those who made the main part of the label. ( I modified it a bit).
The cart was an old Aidyn Chronicles cart.

Thanks KRIKzz for making it. It's pretty sweet.

Any general ETA on when we will be able to buy the ED64? I have all of your others and am excited to get my hands on this one too.

getting bored waiting for everdrives to come back in..

ive been checking retrogate daily for over a month now and my patience is draining fast
also im getting more and more put off by all this techno talk - surely the cart should run games without any techno faffing around?
the everdrive gg md and super ev were all fine but this one seems to be too much of a pain to get hold of and also sounds difficult to get games running
is it really worth it? not sue now

IMO the ED64 works just like any other everdrive, it's drag 'n drop and you just have a dozen out of 360 existing games that will not work (not counting the public domain games and demo), and if you wait a little before buying yours those dozen of game will work perfectly (flashram issues).

All those talks are mostly about that dozen of non-working games that you probably already have at home if you like collecting n64 games.

BTW if anyone is interested in trying public domain stuff, you should try dexanoid, the music is awesome (a pretty good breakout/arkanoid clone).

    Quick question regarding the firmware:
    I'm using the Everdrive64 in a German PAL N64 including a CIC 7101

If I insert the ED64 without SD Card inserted, it runs in PAL mode and tells me to download the OS.

However, when I put the SD Card in, the N64 switches to NTSC (or PAL60, not sure).
Some TVs (the one I use ;)) don't support that, so I can't see the menu.

I tried converting the OS to PAL using some N64-ROM-Tools. But then the Everdrive crashes when loading the OS.

Is there any way we could get a PAL version of the OS?
Or is this already possible somehow (i.e. with a button combination, etc.)?
