Alex Jones is pretty entertaining and can have some good viewpoints you won't find in mainstream media. You just can't take everything he says seriously since hes also extremely paranoid. I always get a laugh when he tries to sell his special seeds that are meant to grow food when the zombie apocalypse happens.

And someone mentioned Gunstar SuperHeroes by Treasure as a bad game? That game is amazing! Some of the best graphics on the GBA and I prefer the art style of the characters to the original.

AND....there you go that's what I have against Alex Jones. I hate unfounded fear mongering.

Who...who would even... Gunstar Super Heroes is one of my favorite GBA games. I still have my copy CIB.

Ikaruga is only overrated in the sense that most people who rate it extremely highly have barely played any other shooters; at one point saying how much you love Ikaruga was sort of a "hipster" (as much as I hate that word) gamer thing. There are better shooters out there, though with the exception of Dodonpachi it sure as hell beats anything Cave has ever made.

I said Advance Guardian Heroes, not Gunstar Super Heroes. GSH was disappointing compared to the original though, especially since the Thunder Blade and Flicky homages it added were terrible.

Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun are only "overrated" to people who don't know how to handle the games' depth. They both offer incredibly refined gameplay mechanics and brilliant level design. Of course that doesn't appeal to anyone who'd prefer just to blow stuff up and die using 81 continues. It's a game of perfection and detail and its flawlessness certainly doesn't stop at "nice graphics" and "wow it's black & white". I started with Ikaruga, now I played hundreds more shooters and I still think it's an excellent game. Whoever compares these two masterpieces to other, completely different, masterpieces is doing it wrong. How would e.g. Thunder Force III be better than Ikaruga? Is Cezanne better than Monet? Those comparisons in subjective variables are nothing but ideological and thus, stupid.

Yeah but there's no rhyme or reason to anything going on in RSG I can use every weapon I have on something and still deal almost no damage at all and When I die in RSG I feel it's due to some flaw in the game it self. When I die in Ikaruga...I know it's because I screwed something up. There's always going to be something special about Ikaruga it fixed all RSG's Problems.

I love how this thread has degraded into, talk about whatever. That's a testament to how seriously people take Nintendo.

By the Way, Earthbound on VC today if you care.

I love Radiant Silvergun and I have ever since it came out. In my opinion it is the best made shooter ever, though Batsugun Special comes close (despite the counter-stopping issue). The day I 1CC'd it was a special one indeed.

I 1CC'd Ikaruga shortly after it came out, and after the initial "OOhhhhh new DC game!" vibe wore off I disliked it. Even today, I find it a very weak psuedo-successor to Radiant Silvergun, and in general I view it more as a puzzle game than a good 2D shooter.

As for Gunstar Super Heroes, fuck that game and fuck damn near everything by Tetsu Okano. That hack's entire career is based on elbowing you in the side saying, "Hey, remember that? Remember when that happened in the earlier game in this series? Remember that? Isn't nostalgia great!?" It was cute with Segagaga, but then Gunstar Super Heroes and Thunder Forve VI were two of the biggest garbage ass hack-jobs I have ever seen. GSH was basically GH with gameplay/level tweaks and a few crappy random homages thrown in.

Then I now find it highly ironic that all you do is sit on here and bitch about Nintendo reusing the same franchises since you just praised two games that are nothing more than references to the previous games in their series. GSH is damn near literally just GS with tweaked gameplay and crappy references. TFVI is nothing but a stream of references to the previous games. And if you seriously think TFVI is good... then you really need to play more shooters. Especially TFIII and TFIV (and hell, maybe even TF AC).

As an old school fan of Tecno Soft, I cannot view TFVI as anything other than complete trash.

I find it ironic that you suck Nintendo dick.
    Mushroom flavor?

Gunstar Superheroes is a good game, it has nice elements, remains fresh, does a few things the first didn't has a decent learning curve and is a serviceable follow up to a classic.

And Thunder Force VI, well you just have shitty taste is all.

What do my comments even have to do with me liking Nintendo? You're reaching kid, pretty hard too. I'm just pointing out something that's ironic.

It is practically a copy and paste of Gunstar Heroes. That is so fucking lame it isn't even funny.

It would be like Sonic 2 being the original Sonic only with the spin-move and Tails added. That's what GSH is. Oh, and maybe throw in an Alex Kidd reference somewhere (do you even know who Alex Kidd is?)

I'll never forget how pissed off I was when I bought GSH. I had it pre-ordered and everything, and I was so hyped about it. And then... fucking hack job.

This is coming from the kid who thought that Ninja Gaiden 3 (next-gen) was a good game?

Yeah, speak for yourself. You have a long record of incompetence and horrible taste, so I guess your fondness of TFVI shouldn't be surprising.

But no, seriously, get on your little emulator and track down TFIII and TFIV and see what that series was like when it was good (and when it was actually being made by Tecno Soft, not some hack at Sega).

I think I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Nintendo.. some things they do are strokes of genius, like kid Icarus uprising for instance but then they do stupid things like circle pad pro and maybe tell developers "NOT" to use touch screen for aiming, as result no FPS games on 3ds.. lets see what else hmm

Wii U great idea for system. The game pad will work well but there is massive lack of games for it still. Also they need to make a proper Mario game for it, not the Mario games that has already come out or going to.. I want to see the next step up from the great galaxy games but maybe going back to routes of what made Mario 64 what it was.. but a massive leap in great graphics; not the 3ds kind of look.. don't get me wrong I actually thought super Mario 3d land was great but only for a handheld; I don't want to see that on a console! Oh and Mario games need to be a bit harder too.. they have got easier as time has gone on they need to introduce what other games do; a difficulty setting, none of that headache of.. oh we have to make Mario for "everyone to be able to play". All I can say is, other games use difficulty settings for a reason!

What would gain a bit more trust back for me is if they sort out a full library of virtual console games.. I hope Nintendo at least buy those licenses back from RARE (not necessarily buy the company back)
that's why I still play emulators on my PC and kept my N64 and NGC.

A lot of people here think that they lost people after the snes.. probably true, but for me I started losing interest when the GC came out. there were about 10 games I thought that were worthy but nothing stood out like goldeneye Zelda and/or Mario on that N64 system since.. I gained interest back with certain Wii exclusives like Metroid other m and corruption etc.. they were fantastic! as well as galaxy; heck I even enjoyed the Zelda's on the wii so yes bit of a come back although the wii remote/nun chuck controller was next to useless for a lot of other normal type games.

the wii u game pad and even the pro controller are really impressive in my book I just wish I could use the pad on my PS3 and eventually PS4 as I have loads of games I could play with it!

Radient silvergun was epic; got it on my Saturn emulator its plays great

Nintendo should make controllers for Sony/MS and bring there franchise to Sony or MS.. I want to buy less consoles.. lol generally I try and leave nothing out as there is always some amazing game that is exclusive, I want an Xbox one for KI and I want PS4 for Killzone 4.. am keeping my Wii U for games like pikim 3 Zelda etc..

maybe we should all just use PC's and be done with the console wars haha ...
