No problem - I'll keep an eye out!

We can move posts over to another thread, but it might get messy (and confusing if anyone chooses to read this archived thread). If it doesn't look too bad, it might be worth just quoting relevant posts. If you "Reply With Quote" to a post then copy the whole quote code with the post ID (e.g. QUOTE=user;123456), then it should link back to the post in this thread.

I've got one incompatible Saturn, I've known it to have issues taking a modchip for a while now. It's a 32 pin with a JVC EXL-P605 and I don't recall the mobo revision offhand but likely a VA7 with a RF BIOS installed. It'll boot up and then drop into the BIOS trying to recognize the disc then saying "drive empty". Does this on both 0014 and 0016.

I third on it being the laser. I have a NTSC-U Model 2 Saturn with a JVC EXL-P605 drive too (32 Pin - No white stripe) and the chip worked fine when i was testing.

    My test log:

    Saturn Model 1 VA0 - ENR-007 (A) = Working
    Saturn Model 1 VA0.8 - ENR-007 (D) = Working
    Saturn Model 1 VA1/VA2 - ENR-007 (D) = Working
    Saturn Model 2 64 Pin - JVC EXL-P604 = Working
    Saturn Model 2 32 Pin - JVC EXL-P605 = Working

I'll give it some more testing today as I have multiple lasers available from dead consoles. IIRC it can read originals just fine but I pulled it out hoping this would be a magic bullet. I'll report back with my findings as soon as I have some.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: I made an error using the automated shipping units inside the postal service thinking they'd provide the same rates as the online calculator. Turns out the automated units are *only* for correspondence and not parcels which I wasn't aware of. I'll be issuing refunds for the differences as soon as I'm able to do the calculations, hopefully the packages will arrive safely but if not I'll resend the modchips.

It wouldn't read originals so I slowly pumped up the juice and found it still reads nothing. So far this looks like the chips are still unchallenged for compatibility.

$24 with minimum of 15 ordered.

Should I drop you a PM if more than a month passes since shipping, then?

Alright, i just got around to touching up the installation guide a bit and adding pictures of the installation process of a Model 2 Saturn with a 32 pin CD drive (Model 2 - JVC EXL-P605). I don't have time at the moment for including pictures of the installation for all models but hopefully should be good enough to get someone through the installation for now. If you'd like to volunteer on editing the guide to make it better (Add more pics, replace with better pics, improve wording, etc.), it would be greatly appreciated and of course you'll be credited for the work :).

Thanks Zero-2k11! Glanced over it and it looks good enough. Was mainly wondering about the jumper settings but I dont have to do anything with them.

Looks like it doesn't work with the fixes applied for the sanyoboard. All it gives me is 2 red spheres saying "Checking disc format" The CD board number is 610-6473-30 without a trapboard. I've never been able to get modchips to work with this console :/.

It sounds like a ribbon cable problem. Does your Saturn still read retail discs without the chip installed? Try these few things.

    1.) Reseat the ribbon cables.
2.) Recheck all your soldering work on the Sanyo Fix. Make sure that the jumpers are not accidently bridged. (See diagram below).
3.) Try grabbing power from the CD drive or PSU (which ever you haven't tried yet).
4.) Test the chip if you can on another Saturn to see if the chip is working.
