Interested in one of these, but I can't seem to find an install guide for a Model 1 Sega Genesis. I'd assume this is possible, but it would be nice to have directions on where to install it.

 

I have install pictures in the link on the first page but it is only for the Model 1 VA7 board, all other Model 1 systems don't need it and if you have a non VA7 with crappy sound recap the system.

 

Any caps in particular or all 25+ of them on the main board?

 

The ones that affect sound are the ones that range from 1uf to 10uf but they are all around the power switch ( I recapped a Model 1 for someone using SMD Tantalums). If you're recapping might as well do the whole thing, just use good caps and not those cheap no name brands.

It can be used on a Genesis 3 and the rest of the question was answered on Sega-16 forums.

 

I'm looking for people who are interested in getting some of these fullmount kits. If there's enough people Helder will reorder them. These would be great for connecting through component or RGb (using the NESRGB) with the easily available Wii/WiiU cables.

 

If no one bites then in a few weeks I might have the money to invest in a small batch.

 

I stumbled upon this thread looking for something like this for my top loader. I would be interesting in buying a full mount kit if you end up reordering some.

 

I likely will order just a real small batch since it's not much of a mover.

 

Ok if anyone still wants one of these screw sockets I have 2 left with and without the RGB to Component board, I do not have any of the full mount sockets.

 

Do you know if the full mount kit compatible with the AV Famicom? If so, I'd be willing to wait a bit for a full kit.

 

I believe game.tech.us over at youtube did a video of the install and it does works but I would look to be sure before committing to a buy.

I'll wait the couple of weeks for the full mount one then. Is the RGB to component kit the BA7230LS based one discussed on the Sega-16 forums?

 

Yes it is and has been tested by an owner of the NESRGB board but I have another RGB to Component board of a different design that I plan to test that doesn't rely on that encoder. In the mean time the board I sell with the Wii Socket is based off the BA7230LS.

I'm pretty interested, but I am wondering if the alignment issue has been resolved.

 

That alignment issue maybe a combination of variance in 3D printing process and that particular board's holes being slight ly shifted. I've noticed one of my Toploader's stock panel slightly shifted from Nintendo while another one wasn't. Since that video was made I've made adjustment to lessen the chance of that amount of shift from happening.
